For a small tractor you may be better off to rent or hire someone do your backhoe work.
The PTO is only 17 H.P with engine power only 21 H.P. Looks as if the tractor is overloaded now..

What I think,
The screen does not change the capacity of the bucket, it will prevent large objects from falling between the bucket and the cylinders.
The size of the backhoe does not change how much you can dig, it changes how deep you can go and how big you can rip up stuff. Bigger backhoe, deeper the reach. To dig the same amount of dirt with a small backhoe takes longer. If you want to dig a foundation for a building, and the specs say 12 inches wide and 18 inches deep, a small backhoe would be fine. Big backhoes can definitely do more but there is a lot that can be done with compact tractors and a backhoe.
You will always run into something you cannot dig out, but that is why there are huge excavators and demolitions. ....

The most common breaks are not from digging with the backhoe, but from transporting it with the boom up or using the loader on rough ground. The way to protect from that is to install a subframe. ....
