I need some help. I posted this message on Tuesday and received no replies. So here it is again. I've located a 1986 Kubota L2250. It has been well maintained despite high hours. It had turf tires and Power Steering. It is offered with a 5' belly mower, 5' bush hog, rear scraper blade, utilty boom, and utility trailer (for behind the tractor). The seller is asking $8700. Is this a reasonable price? Please respond via this board or direct to ntouchet@epix.net.Thanks in advance.

Neil,The L2250 probably lines up with the L2500 that is still sold today. You can buy a brand new fresh 4wd L2500 for $10300. The L2500 is the same engineering design as the used 1986 you are looking at. A new Belly mower goes for about $2400 bucks. The Bush hog is about $5-600, the scraper new is about $350 for a good one. So new the stuff you are looking at is worth about + or - $14000 new x the boom and utility cart. So you are getting about $5k off for 13 years of use. As tractors go 30 years could be the life of the machine so its not a bad deal. Depends on how much money you have. For my money I would rather put the $5k in now so I can ride at least the the 3 year warranty with no problems. If you are handy on diesels and want to apply those skills on this purchase this won't be a consideration.Good LuckDennisThis is the Used tractor you described:________________________________________1986 Kubota L2250.well maintained despite high hours.turf tires and Power Steering.5' belly mower, 5' bush hog, rear scraper blade, utilty boom, and utility trailer (for behind the tractor). The seller is asking $8700. ....

The tractor that took the place of the L2250 is more like the L3010 not the strip down L2500.Although the L2250 doesn't have the H.P. that the L3010 has I believe that it is closer in features. Check to see if the L2250 has a live powertake off. This is not standard on a L2500.Also the tranny on the L2250 is and 8x8 and I don't believe that the L2500 has this. The thing that is nice about the 8x8 is the speed control is infinite no matter what implement you are using. This is just the info that I gather while I was looking to make a purchase.FYI the L3010 with a loader new priced in somewhere around 18,000 and that is why I didn't think the $9,000 was a bad price for my tractor. But like Dennis said the 3 year warranty is something to look at. I got a 90 day warranty with my tractor which is not much but it is better then nothing. Like I said post your question on the kubota tractor source and you should get the feed back you are looking for. good luck ....
