My B7100 just "clicked" when I tried to start it for the first time this year. The horn, lights and electrical system seems to be dead. I put in a new battery...then a new ignition switch...checked the two fuses under the dash...and still no juice anywhere. Is there another fuse somewhere?....any ideas? Thanks for your help...Wes

I'm sure you've checked it but, you did make sure that the new battery was good didn't you? I mention this because I have a nephew that just went and bought a new battery and when he got it home it wouldn't start his truck and he found out it was a bad battery.
Another thing is to check the battery cable ends. If they're the type that clamps onto the cable you could have some corrosion under the clamps, I had that happen to me on Dads Ferguson TO-30 once and on a car or two in my life. ....

There may be a seperate fuse for the pre-heaters that kills the ignition. That happened on my new tc29, acted just like you described. IF no other fuse exhists, I would clean the terminals and try a jump start to see if the new battery is any good. ....

Many wiring systems are about the same. There is an unfused connection between the battery and starter/solenoid hot terminal, and it always should see battery voltage. On many systems most everything else runs through a fusable link before going to fuses in a fuse panel. If a fusable link blows, nothing happens because the starter relay and safety interlocks are energized through fusable link circuits. Of course, fuasble links seldom blow, because each individual circuit also is fused. A question of how a tractor that worked blew a fuse over winter when it wasn't used might be asked. Mice maybe, but another problem perhaps?
I think I'd check the battery ground cable and terminal, and especially the lower end of the ground cable. I'd charge and install a battery and check for battery voltage at the starter. Then, I'd check for battery voltage at the fuse panel with the starter switch at the on position. If no voltage, I'd check for voltage at the starter switch, although a wiring schematic probably would be needed. I'd keep in mind that a VOM shows voltage through its own ground. Good tests can be made and still something may not work if a device doesn't have a ground. A very weak battery also may measure good voltage, but the voltage drops to near zero when any load (such as instrument lights) is connected. By the same token a discharged battery can light headlights pretty well but do nothing with a starter.

Yikes! My comment regarding a VOM reads through its own ground: The comment should read that a voltage reading can be good and a device still not work if the device doesn't have a ground. The battery ground still has to be good.
I'll change the comment through the edit feature. Very handy feature unless of course too many people have already read a butchered statement.

I got it! Following your suggestions, I went to square one....scraped and cleaned posts, scraped and cleaned terminals, removed the ground connection and scraped and cleaned....and...voila!....it worked! Thanks to all reminding me that square one really works....Wes ....
