I have a Kubota L-2800DT tractor and just bought a rear mount snowblower. The dealer I purchased tractor from told me that this tractor had a live PTO but every time I push in the clutch the PTO stops. Is there something that I need to turn on to keep the PTO live regardless if the clutch is in or not?

That's how it supposed to work. If you want the pto only, you need to put the drive in neutral and let out the clutch with the PTP lever engaged, the PTO will run. This is the mode you would use for instance using a post hole digger. With your tractor in neutral let the clutch pedal out a little bit and you will see the pto shaft turn. If you want to move your tractor and turn the pto shaft, just put the transmission in gear along with the pto engaged while snow blowing or bush hogging for instance both the pto and the drive to the wheels will work. That’s how a live pto works. Did your dealer give you a manuel?

Well looking at Kubota's web site have one question for you, what kind of transmission do you have? The way I read their site with the manual trans think the dealer is wrong. BUT, I could be misreading it. ....

That is how a live pto works. You might be thinking of an independent pto.
With a hydro it doesn't make muah difference as you don't need the clutch to switch directions. Your tractor being gear drive it does make it a bit rough. ....

You just need to get the hang of keeping the PTO spinning when you stop, that or lift it and let it clear before you stop it so it doesn't clog.
It's kind of a "Clutch, quick neutral, release clutch, stop, clutch, quick reverse, release clutch" kind of a thing.
Experience is the only way you'll get the hang of it. Once you get good you'll learn how to just slip it out of gear and into neutral, then you only need to clutch to put it back into gear.
