Just trying to find out some information...I'm looking at a 4 year old 4100 with HST and FEL. Is this the same as what is now called the 4110? Thanks in advance!

Basically, yes. The 4110 is an updated model but I'm not sure what the diffs are. ....

I had a 2000 4100 and I have crawled all over the 4110's. If there is ANY difference, I can't find it.
Wait! I thought of something. I think the SCV control stick has a different bend in it so you won't bump it with your knee so often. ....

Well it's a done deal then! :D thanks.
One other question that I have then is that I'm moving from a "25hp" gas Garden tractor (Craftsman GT5000 hydro with the 2 cylinder Kohler) to a 20hp DIESEL 3 cylinder. Now, I know that in reality TORQUE is the name of the game. I don't know offhand what the torque at the operating rpm of the garden tractor is but I'm assuming that it's probably not as good as the diesel? I'm a little concerned as I was able to bog down the 48" deck in moderate grass with the GT and I was hoping to use a 60" deck on the 4100. Also, my little GT wasn't able to budge the 5' drag grader that my neighbor uses for the drive (it would just dig a hole with one wheel...no locking diff...and thats with 26x12x12 AG tires). Again, I'm *assuming* that the extra weight and traction of the 4wd and the diesel should do the job? I hesitate to get any bigger of a tractor as I would like a smaller machine for getting aroung the woods for logging and around the orchard for mowing. ....

acerguy ,
You will be amazed in the power and traction the 4100 has...there is a world of difference between a 500 lb machine and on that weighs 1500 lb without attachments..
60" mower will be just fine...I use a 5" rear blade all the time effortlessly on my 4100....a lawn tractor cant give you any comparison to the power & capability of a 3 cylinder Diesel...
Hope it works out for you!
Duc

acerguy, for approximation:
horsepower=torque x rpm/64,000
Since diesels torque out at lower rpms than gas engines, you will find that the 20hp diesel will out WORK a 25hp gas all day. The 64,000 is close, I can't remember the exact number. Somebody will. ....

There is no comparison when you match a diesel to gas in terms of raw torque. The 4100 will simply amaze you and leave your jaw on the ground what it can do compared to the 25hp gas. ....

There are 3 "versions" of the 4100... the G,H, and N. I'd assume the N is the latest and greatest 4100. All flavors appear to be very similar.
The only diff. I know of (which was pointed out by someone else here) is that the lower 3PT. arms on the G/H models are diff. from the ones used on the 4100N... the 4110 use a completely diff. set of arms.
I'd like to see the JD specs on the 4100... just to know what the real diff. is. ....

"N" stands for Narrow. It is designed to fit between rows of certain fruit crops.
"G" is for gear transmission and "H" is for HST. ....

Again, thanks for all the help guys. I went ahead and bought it last night. To be delivered on Wednesday (after a full fluid/lube/service. It's a 4100 with 450 hours and the 410 loader. It's being delivered with a good used Landpride 60" finish mower. Very nice dealer, very helpful and understanding of my "greenhorn-ness" One comment that I have from test driving the thing around is that I was a little surprized how good the turning radius is. Should be no problem manuevering around the woods and orchard! I'll have to do my profile now. ....
