I have found an 850 4x4 with a loader & 1700 original hours. It runs good the loader operates smoothly. Condition I would call good. Is $8500.00 a good price?

I would say a fair to poor price not a great price. I would be looking for at least $1500 off that price. Remember that you can get a new tractor and loader with waranty for about 10K in that size range (cheapest). A new Deere (790)which is nearly the same tractor and loader is about 14-15K. With about 1/2 the problem free life of the tractor gone (remember you can rebiuld indefinately) you are paying much more than 1/2. ....
