I just bought a JD870 and was wondering if there is a place I can get 870 parts? (ie,front grille, lights, etc) Website maybe? Also, how much weight would be sufficient to keep around for the front shelf to keep the JD from rearing up when going uphill. Mine has a tendency to rear up slightly from time to time. I have to really let the clutch out slow. Thanks for any and all responses.

You can find origional JD parts at the URL below, but it requires online registration. But brace yourself. I've got an 870 with a minor dent in the hood and discovered it's probably cheaper for me to hire a silversmith to custom manufacture one out of precious metal! Still, if you need the parts they have them all, complete with diagrams and part numbers. I sure would be interested in hearing from anyone who has attempted body work on those plastic covers?
As for the front weights, I'm assuming you have no FEL. My personal preference is for wheel weights as they seem to help with traction too. ....
