I am looking for a set of used rear rims and wheels (for ag tires) for a 950 John Deere compact tractor. My tractor has turf tires and it does not have enough traction for pulling a heavy, LandPride 3-point hitch, read-discharge finish mower up steep hills.

Have you considered loading your rear tires for extra weight/traction? It might be a cheaper way to go as I recently replaced one of my rear bar tires on my 950 to the tune of $250 + $50 for the intertube. Good Luck on the project. Regards Mark ....

Hi Mark. Yes, I have considered putting fluid in the tires, but I do not think that alone will solve my problem. This 950 John Deere placed a 1952 Harry Ferguson TO-30 with ag tires that handled the hills much better. I do not mind buying the tires, its those rims and wheels that have stopped me. They aren't just painted gold, apparently the are made of the stuff. Roy ....

find a dealer who handles titan wheels. i saved app 20%. i put a set of 19.5L x 24 Turf and Fields on my 970. traction up slopes is just as good as the 13.6 x 28 that i replaced. traction in mud is not as good as R1's. i had to fool a bit with front tire sizes as i have MFWD. the ratios for the 950 is 1.750.

A bit over 17 years between posts. Interestingly I still have and use my 970. Tires are swapped every spring and fall. ....
