I currently have a Ford 2000 with which I do mostly finishing mowing and field mowing. I would like to get something smaller to do my finishing mowing as the Ford is just a bit to big to get around the house and it does a bit of turf damage. I have a 72 inch woods mower that I now use. How much PTO power will it take to drive the mower?

I regularly use a 6' Land-pride finish mower & a 5' Bush-hog behind a 20hp. 2wd compact with no problem at all. The only thing your available (pto) power determines really is the SPEED you can work, sometimes if the grass is thick (in the spring, etc.) you may be gowing awfully slow, but it still beats a 19" Lawn-boy... Best of luck. ....
