Had to buy this stuff for my daughters college spring term. Pretty good drive and best prices on books by far.

After replacing three hard drives at home in the last three weeks I've had it with hard drives. Even "Enterprise" class drives don't last, million plus hour MTBF ratings notwithstanding. From now on I am only buying SSDs. They don't last, either, but at least they generally don't fail catastrophically. The time spent rebuilding takes too long, even with image backups. ....

I bought this replacement drive because my daughters laptop has been freezing up, its only 6 months old. I am trying to avoid returning it to the manufacturer as I am sure I won't be happy with the result. I had mapped a plan to put the new drive in my laptop and restore the system with Macrium Reflect backup software. Then put my old drive in her machine and do a clean install of the OS.
On her laptop besides freezing the backlight keyboard was staying on even when the PC was shutdown. I removed all extraneous software, ran ccleaner, installed all windows updates etc.
After I ordered the drive I created a new user on her machine. Now logged in as the new user everything is working properly.....:( go figure..... ....
