I am currently in the market for a new tractor in the 33-40 h.p. range. I have looked for the last couple of weeks and have run across what seems like a few good deals. I have looked at the Massey-Fergusons, John Deere, New Holland/Case, Kubota, and Kioti.
The prices are pretty competitive, but the Kioti DK40S looks like it might be the route I go. It seems to have the nicest features for the money. I am also getting more power for the money that the others will sell me a mid-30's h.p. for.
I have made up my mind to buy a tractor, so as some of you may understand, I'm chomping at the bit.:) Please give me the good, bad, and the ugly on several different models to help me decide.
(This is an identicle post as the one in the Kioti section. Sorry about that, I meant to put it here in the first place. I'm new here.)

In my neck o' woods it's pretty much JD or NH. But there's a lot of Ford employees in the area so they get Employee Discounts on NH so that skews things---sometimes. A neighbor and Ford retiree only buys JD. And he has had a lot of problems with his stuff too.
I use only NH construction and Ag equipment (discount-driven, and I'm not a fan of JD).
Just today my other Ford retiree neighbor who is a NH fan/user was talking to a JD salesman. The salesman was upfront and admitted they aren't what they used to be. The JD's I'm aware of in my 'hood have had multiple loader attachment woes, axles breaking/shattering, and 4x4 issues.
But to each is own. ....

I don't think any of them are as good as we like to think they were in the old days. Ford isn't Ford, it's Shibaura. JD is Yanmar. Kubota is still Kubota. I've had good luck with my JD and the dealer has been excellent. It's often said that dealer service and support is more important than the brand. I'd own just about any small tractor from any of the majors if the dealer was good. A decent tractor from a crappy dealer can be a real nightmare. ....

Just another thought. We have all heard the horror stories about every color built, how bad they were, I broke mine in half, etc. Remember, we all know people who could shatter an anvil with a rubber hammer. Frank. ....
