I've got the long 2360 maintenance manual, but it doesn't break down the injection pump. Does anyone have a schematic that breaks it down? I am mainly looking for one that shows the thin cap where the two linkage stems protrude. I have fuel weeping there and I suspect there are "O" rings on those stems. It is a 1996 model with 440 hours. All those rubber critters seem to fail first.
Thanks for help, Ken

Go to Agco Parts book, click on guest user.
Search for Allis 5040 tractor (was made by long?)
AGCO Allis
5040 TRACTOR 79003935
FUEL SYSTEM - FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, FUEL PUMP, GOVERNOR Page 64 and 70 (different versions)
shows the cover and springs (yours may be like this)
This is sort of like my pump on a 2510 but not the same.
Also the link below references that it is a CAV pump and says look on Ebay search for CAV Injector Pump.
Link below says fits 2360 and 360

If you replace parts on the pump, please take pics and maybe even give tips. This is probably useful information for all of us as this pump is used on may applications

Arcwelder... thanks for that information. Going there now to see what they say.
Will post if my suspicion is correct about there being 'O' rings on those stems.
Thanks again, Ken ....

Well I think I found most of my missing and puffing white smoke problem. Seems after I had the injectors rebuilt I got some dirty fuel. I removed my injectors this afternoon and as some had suggested, based on it puffing white smoke and missing, there was water and more trash than current laws allow. I opened each injectorand cleaned them good. Now before I connect them to the fuel system I will change all filters, again, hoses, clean the tank and the the injector pump inlet filter. I sure hope it didn't destroy this pump. From what I've seen the suppliers are real proud of these pumps.
Thanks to my new "best friend", arkwelder, I now have some clues about the pumps and injectors. Arkwelder many thanks to you for that 5040 information... that is a wallet and life saver when working on these longs.
I wanted to attach three photos but for the life of me I can't see where on the site to attach them. I have before, after and broken down into component level photos but I'm at a loss of how to attach. If someone can tell me how to post them I'll do it. //Ken
Note: I found the add photo and added them but I don't see them... I'm still hunting for them so I can tell you where to look.

Thanks for letting us know!
I can see the photo's on the 3 posts.
I am saving them for my info, along with the text.
You may want to start a new thread on how to save big bucks cleaning your own Long injectors.
