I notice that this is already a topic of discussion and would like some further input. I am trying to decide getween a B2910 HST 4wd with FEL and an L3010 HST 4wd with FEL. Price is within a three hundred dollars. I ahve 10 acres of pasture to mow and 15 acres of woods to obtain firewood. The major difference is the B2910 will need a 4foot mower, the L3010 will take a 5 foot. WHat are your thoughts? Thanks.

I have B2910 HST and have a 6 foot finish mower on the back of my tractor. It works quite well with power to spare. I don't remenber the name off hand, but it is a major brand mower, it has four dolly wheels on it. ....

Kewer -
Check them both out, but IMHO, if you don't have a lot of tight places to get into, the 3010 may be better - more loader capacity, bigger frame/more weight, higher 3pt lift.
I don't think the 3010 is so big you have to worry about your septic tank or leach field (there are some good threads on that subject).
For the small $, I think you get more tractor w/ the 3010. For me, I looked at not moving bigger than the 2910 because I have less space for manuevering ad storage.
I haven't heard much bad about either of these units. Try them both, see what "fits" your situation.
GOOD LUCK ! ....

Was at the same decision point 2-years ago and went with the 3010. Great machine! Heavier than the 2910 so it doesn't spin tires much - but then I usually have the loader and backhoe on. I have steep hills (7 AC) and wondered, looking back, if the 3410 (same tractor with few extra horses) would have been better. HST is excellent. Sometimes wish it had 2-speed PTO. Industrial tires are great and help distribute weight so tracks are not too bad. Fold-over ROPS necessary to get into standard garage. A little larger than the 2910 (a consideration when transporting it) but always pleased with 3010 performance - size of jobs attempted seem to grow to the capacity of tractor ....

What is the price difference in the two machines if they are comparably equipped? Is the 3010 available with HST as well as telescoping lower links? I assume they run the same H/P. After struggling without those telescoping links, I would not own a machine without them. I have an assortment of three point attachments and always have to change them without assistance. It sounds to me as though it is a comparable machine is size to the TC29. ....

I have a Kubota B2710 HST with a 72" BEFCO C30 mower and never had a problem with mower operation, even in high grass. The B2910 wasn't an available model at the time of my purchase. Hp won't be a problem with the B2910 and a 72" mower.

The 2910 also will work with a 5' bush-hog but you will need to run the loader for ballast on the front. I think your dealer wants to unlaod the L-3010 as there is a far larger than 300 dollar difference in the price. I would take advantage of the opertunity to get a larger tractor for the small money difference he has quoted you. ....
