Hi folks new here.

Got a question.

I been running a front end Snow Blower and a rear grader blade. Most of the time the Grader blade is not being used and is the max up position.

I have been noticing that every ten minutes or so it is lowering a bit enough that I feel that it can be a bit higher than it is. I have not measured the drop yet but that is next step.

Is a little lowering on the grader blade normal and nothing to worry about?

Thanks for any comments!

Mike

Your post isn’t exactly clear.

Is the blade dropping and coming back up?

Is the 3pth lever staying in its full up position?

Best of luck. ....

When I blow snow I have the rear blade in the max up position with the lever in the middle nuetral position. Because the rear blade is wider than the track of the tractor when I look back I can see that the rear blade is now catching a some snow on the edge of my path now, but when I started the blade was higher than the snow depth and missed catching any snow.

When I notice this I move the lever to lift the balde up to the top and it lifts the blade a couple of inches and the blade is now above the snow depth. This sequence repeats periodically.

I have the under the seat knob set to slow to moderate drop rate.

I know years ago when I rented a B21 that the backhoe would do the same thing and I would periodically have to lift it up.

I am assuming that this not indicative of a looming problem.

But then agian that is why I am asking is it troublesome or just an annoyance.

Your comment, “... the rear blade in the max up position with the lever in the middle nuetral position.” as me a little confused.

The 3pth lever directly relates to the position of the lift arms, full up is fully raised, part way is partly raised. To have the blade fully up, the lever should be left in the full up position.

Try leaving the lever all the way up and see if that solves the problem.

Best of luck. ....

My Tractor Manual says the 3PH control has 5 positions:

A B Neutral C D

Where B and C are 1/4 inching down and up.

A is Move Down

B is Move Up

It has always been my asumption that I should return to Neutral after moving it in either direction. I thought what you refer to was for a Tractors with Position Control which I have no exposure to.

I will try what you mention and see if it makes any difference. I have found the Kubota manuals to have some lost in translation issues as well. ....

My apologies. I misled you a little. Your post didn’t reveal what tractor you had so I was unaware you had a Kubota B series with the quarter inching valve.

That being the case there are two possibilities, first is that while working in bulky winter clothing you are inadvertently ‘bumping’ the valve causing the 3 pth to lower. The second is that at some point the 3 pth has been overloaded and you’re getting a little leakage past the seals inside the rear end.

Best of luck. ....

Bulky clothing hmmmm ..... you are too kind. And you must know my BMI is over 26 so could well be a bulk issue nonetheless.

I will check this out after I clear todays snow tomorrow.

Appreciate your getting back to me

Thanks

Mike ....

Thanks Mike [/QUOTE]

Hahaha, it happens.

As my grandfather used to tell me, middle age is the point where a narrow waist and a broad mind change places on you.

Best of luck. ....
