9 foot Bradco Woods or Kubota

I am narrowing in on the purchase of a tractor. Likely something in the 38 to 46 HP range in Kubota or New Holland. One of the questions is which 9 foot backhoe to get. The choices I am hearing are Bradco, Woods and Kubota. No one seems to be recommending the Kubota. Most dealers are suggesting the Woods. I saw one in action today with a thumb and it was very impressive. One dealer was absolutely fanatic over the Bradco. Does anyone have any experience with the Bradco or the Woods, and why is it that no one is recommending the Kubota?

Thanks

I would recommend the Kubota as with a three year chassis warrantee you could be hurting yourself. The aftermarket hoes are just that aftermarket hoes and they are cheaper as they normally plus or minus a completing package fit numerous brands and sizes rather than one brand tractor same as loaders.

9 foot Bradco Woods or Kubota

A good question! My Kubota L35's backhoe is made for Kubota of America by Bradco. So I am told. I also have been told that the hoe on the L48 is also a Bradco design. Maybe I'm not getting the full story here, but when I brought my L35 to the dealer for service there was an HST Kubota with a bradco hoe, I parked next to it and I was hard pressed to find a difference! That is not to say that ALL Kubota hoes are alike, I've seen plenty of Woods sold in Kubota colors, so there are probably a few sources to select from. Woods makes a fair product, they have improved it with the introduction of their "Groundbreaker" series, but they are not up to Bradco standards. A word of caution, a Bradco may be too powerful for most small compacts. If they don't make a sub-frame kit for your tractor then you best look to Woods or the recommended Kubota/NH product.

I have a bradco 611 (11' reach) for my Kubota 3710. This has similar digging power as the 609 but 2' more reach. The 611 is not recommended for my size tractor but works well for me. Most tractor backhoes seem small compared to mine. The cylinders on the 611 and 609 are substantial. My only complaint is the 611 recommends 10-12 gal/min hydraulic flow and the 3710 puts out about 7.8 gal/min. Sometimes the hoe seems a little slow. Many people rave about the power of there smaller hoes but when digging, but in clay or dry dirt my much more powerful hoe still doesn't seem to have enough power. I have often thought that I wouldn't be happy with a smaller hoe. I have 12" and 24" buckets but use the 12" the most. Bradco makes a great hoe and probably the most expensive. Except for their smallest model, I believe all the bradco hoes are subframe mounted. Mounting is fairly quick once the mounting plates are bolted perfectly in place. My 3710 GST is great for moving the tractor without getting of the backhoe seat. Just reach over and change from neutral to first gear, move slowly and shift back to neutral when ready to dig.(provided I am on level ground)

I had a 7500 woods on a Kubota L2900 and traded tractor in on the 35D.
I then traded the hoe and frame for a 9000 woods and bought SSL mount from
woods.
The woods hoe works good but it is REAL fast, too much flow above part throttle.
It is a strong hoe it will move around and lift the front of SSL (8500#).
Haven't had any trouble out of either one.
