Hi ,

My son is looking at the L S tractors . He has a 2 acre place with chickens, sheep and horses. It would be around a 30 hp tractor. Can anyone tell me anything about the L S ?

I know it is a South Korean made tractor.

Any kind of feedback could be helpful.

When you buy a tractor that does not have much of a presence in market you should be prepared to give your mechanical aptitude a challenge in how to maintain and repair it.

It will be hard to even find out info on it let alone parts.

I think you are going much too big for 2 acres..probably better off with sub compact like Kubota BX IMHO ....

30hp is a little big for only 2 acres, but there's nothing wrong with considering LS. I'd get one before I bought another Chinese tractor, that's for sure. LS (USA) is based in North Carolina, but their dealer network is not widespread as the more familiar tractor names. IF you don't have a dealer nearby, USA-based parts and advice are readily available on the internet or over the phone. Click the link below for their American website. The "find a dealer" link will be at the top of the page, right of center.

I assume you have made your purchase by now. if you did, let us know what you got and how you like it. I am on 3 acres. I did a lot of research and bought an LS 6168CPS. I am really happy. But I only have 15 hrs on it so far. LS is trying to make a name for them selves so their prices are very competitive and the amount of standard items that come with them will cost much more as extras with other brands. for example, I just assumed I would buy a JD but an equivalent JD priced out over 20K more for a similarly outfitted tractor. ....

If I have ever seen an LS tractor not aware but one thing to realize in buying such as a tractor....they normally have a long life or should. Not something you trade in 5 years or 10 years for the vast majority I will say even of heavy users. But many owners of the compact tractors may put say 50 hours or less per year on their tractor. At that rate if serviced properly it will last your lifetime. Now I do not care what brand you buy but think on that when buying and realize many companies or any product out there today will not be in 20 years much less 40. My brother bought a "Long" brand tractor maybe 30 years ago and recently sold it as salvage due to not being able to get parts. Have another friend who bought a Farm Trac less than 5 years ago and last we talked he could not get parts for it. kt ....

Kthomson If you have ever seen a New Holland or Case tractor then you have seen an LS. They have been making tractors for other companies for decades. They are owned by LG Corp. ....

Our fields are full of NH and Case but what models of their labels are built by that company?

For New Holland it was the full line-up. For Case I am not sure. Two years after LS started producing under their own label, New Holland decided to go elsewhere.
I also bought a 7 foot brush hog and a 7 foot rototiller to see if I can pick up a little side work. I am recently retired (Last year), but I need to get out of the house. My mother-in-law is living with us. And believe me she is a pain! ....

I have been told New Holland and Case are being built in same factory as both are own by Fiat I think it is. Never heard of NH full size being built by anyone other than them but not a NH amateur much less expert.

Do look at insurance to protect you in your business venture. Is it going well?

Sorry your mother in law living with you is difficult. My Mom and Mother in law have both lived with us and as far as those two were concern it was well. Now some siblings would not do anything to help them before they moved in with us and then were not happy there were here. How do you say greedy.
