I've found a FarmTrac 300DTC with 122 hours, grading box, and blade for 11,500. Anybody here give me an idea if this a good price? Quality, realiability, and dependability of the FarmTrac???
I've seen it and it looks super clean. Any remarks??

The name games they play with these Asian tractors is confusing at best, but I think you might get better response to your questions in the Long forum

The Farm Tracs are made by Lucky Goldstar in Korea. They are one of the largest, if not the largest, corporations in Korea so they aren't going away anytime soon. In other places in the world the tractors are sold as the "LG" (for Lucky Goldstar). If you look at the front of the tractor you are considering buying, you will see the "LG" crest.

I went through the exact same exercise that you did and wound up buying a used Kubota. With the LG, the weak link in the chain is the importer, Long Agribusiness. Nothing against the tractor, but Long has been through one bankruptcy already and now is majority owned by a company from India. I looked at Long, Kioti, Century/Branson, and you name it and finally decided on either a Kubota or JD because both have dealers and service available within 20 miles.

BTW, I found my tractor by following classifieds here and on the the other competing tractor website. Found a trucker over on the ytmag website to deliver it 800 miles at $1./mile It was an internet sale and everything worked out fine. ....

I know this is an old post, but just to set the record straight.

Farmtrac is maunufactured by Escort Limited in India.
Escort Ltd. has been building tractors for several years for Ford. primarily the 3000 & 4000 series. when the contract was up in the mid-nineties, Escort purchased the American Long-Agribusiness Co. to market their own tractor under the name (Farmtrac). Ford contracted with New Holland.

It is easily confusing with companies buying one another to market here or there. Yes Long had serious finacial woes. But if you're buying a Farmtrac, it's not the long you might remember. More like the Ford you remember.
As far a specs go, the Farmtrac beat the competion hands down. (JD, Massy, Mahindra, Kubota, & NH, not to mention a few others)

I did plenty of research before I bought. My Farmtrac has not let me down. plenty of grunt. ....

Farmtrac is a stable company with a strong backing... Escorts, the Indian-firm that owns it, is very stable and is a large tractor manufacturer. The 300DTC is manufactured by LS, (formerly LG... LG split itself into two conglomerates last year, LG and LS). LS also builds for Tafe and Montana for sale in North America. ....

just to clarify, the 300DTC is S Korean, not made in india.
I started to say it was a very good price, but since the OP was in June, I bet the deal is gone by now ....
