What size? The CUTs are Korean (LG), the larger line is Indian (Escort). I read where the 7 series will be Italian (SAME) next year. At least I "think" SAME is Italian.

The Escort Group built tractors for Ford in the far east. With the NH-IH-Ford-Case-Fait merger something had to give to avoid the combines acts in the US and in Europe. Part of the IH was sold in Europe and is now building as McCormick. The Ford Genesis line was sold and is now Bulher with Versitile. Part of the old IH alliance in India is now Mahindra. The Escort group bought Long which was buying old European Fords I think. They had Long Farmtrac for a while and are now using only Farmtrac name.
Greg said the CUT are LG tractors. The LG are also sold as Montanas. ....

I have seen them up close and they look like they were made with Ford's old dies and tooling (and probably were). Quality isn't bad though. But that doesn't mean that they used the same materials Ford spec'd out with the originals, so durability and reliability over the long term is anybody's guess. ....

loghouse; Have you compared your machine to Fords as far as sheetmetal styling, and drivetrain appearance? If there is direct Ford heritage, Ford would have been wise to insist they make them a certian way if only to keep selling Ford-brand service parts. But that's my opinion. ....

Escorts made tractors sold under the Ford name from 1969. The owners of the factory chose not to sell out to NH in thier acquision of the Ford tractor division. There likely were some Escorts built ford tractors sold as Ford in USA (just at JD has some Indain built tractors now). Farmtrac can supply new replacment engines for Ford tractors, reportedly cheaper than a rebuild from NH. It was not "old tooling" the factory is the largest tractor plant (one location) in the world (so I'm told). with most companies building CUT tractors, the Farmtrac is a good alternative for a utility tractor. Many parts are interchangable with Ford. they have inch fasteners. engines in most models are updated versions (EPA) of the Ford designs. ....

i dont know the other models but the 545 is a ford 3910 except the steering setup witch was the only crappy part of the 3910, the new steering is an improvement. my dad has been in heavy construction for 30 years+, and he sais the 3910 is the most reliable tractor he has ever seen on a construction site. i showed him the farmtracs, needless to say he will be getting one soon. ....

According to the local dealer here, they are not Fords though they do resemble a Ford. According to the owner, they are made in Korea. He said the only parts that are interchangable with Fords are only SOME of the engine parts, and very few he said. I feel Farmtrac purchased the dies and possibly some tooling form Ford, but that is debatable too since that would cut into Ford-New Holland parts sales drastically. So my hunch is the seeming identical parts (fenders, hoods, etc.) may look the same but may have certain critical hole locations moved just far enough to prevent interchangability; not quite as drastic as what Ferguson did when they made a sort-of twin to the Fordson 9N/2N/8N's.

They're purtty to look at but still have the same design and production flaws such as rust-prone spotweld seams in metal components. ....

I know a local dealership and he told me in the years (I think it was about 10) they have sold Farmtrac they have yet to go into an engine. That being said I have a friend who had a problem getting some kind of relay for a 2 year old. Not sure why that was. The hyd capicity use to be on the low side. It is my understanding they are or were the Long tractor. ....

like other tractor companies different models are made in different places, i think the compacts are korean, some others are long tractors and some are ford down to the last nut and bolt and i think they are made in india witch is not a bad thing, the best mahindras are made in india and some john deere's are made 100 miles from the mahindra's in india. the 545 is a ford 3910. ....

earthwrks, Farmtrac used to build Ford tractors, that is a fact. The models built in India continue to resemble the Ford models. The compact models are built in South Korea by LS, (formerly LG), which has also had tie-ups with Fiat/New Holland over the years. The former Long LandTrac was built by LS/LG, and LS builds models for Montana and Tafe.

Farmtrac does build some models in Poland, but they are not available in North America.

The higher horsepower tractors are being built by Same. ....

I looked plenty hard before I bought.
as far as specs go, Farmtrac looked the best. (which is what I bought) The JD would have been my second choice. But when compared side by side, the Farmtrac seems as good or better for about 4G's less.

(one thing I've learned. it's a lot like trucks: Ford guys are Ford guys, Chevy guys are Chevy guys, and then there is us Dodge guys. Everybody has their own flavor. find what suits you best. A close dealer/service dept is always a plus) ....
