I don't think you would have any problem with the cutter, but the baler would depend on the model and HP requirement. There are vastly different HP requirements if the baler shoots the bales into the tailer etc. or a small baler. There are small balers designed for the compact tractors.

No I don't think there should be a problem. On my dads farm we had an Oliver 66 gas and it ran the baler Cockshut 540 (If I remember right) with no problems. I have the TC33D now and I think it would run a small baler no problems.

The size of the baler is the factor. The M&M site for the large round baler recommends 40 hp PTO for its smallest baler. The NH smallest square baler is 35 hp PTO. There are some smaller balers around but I could not easily find HP ratings.
The Oliver 66 has the same engine as my Oliver Super 55, a Perkins. They have 25 real HP PTO, I think that they rated HP differently 40 years ago. Certainly outboard motors were rated differently.
I don't know the TC33 that well but I don't think that it has as much torque as the old Perkins. Certainly my JD rated at 29 HP PTO is not as powerful as the Oliver.

You might want to look into one of the older balers that had their own engine, such as some of the John Deeres and New Hollands. Two weeks ago we put up 740 square Bales (small) with an older New Holland that had the Wisconson engine on it for power. My New Holland TC29 had no problems with 6 straight hours of baling, pulling that New Holland baler. Iwish I could tell you the model # but its Paint had long since disapeared.

The other option would ne to move up to the TC40D which would have enough power for most balers. When I looked at them I don't believe there was much difference in price.

My recollection may be faulty here but I seem to recall that the pony engines on some early square balers ran a 'kicker.' The kicker booted the bales out of the machine on and onto the ground rather than to do the actual baling. For comparable size bales, round bales may take less HP that square balers.
