 LIGHTS AND LIGHTING

LIGHTS AND LIGHTING.

Is there a halogen or LED replacement bulb for the dinky dim automative type taillight bulbs used in the Bx & B Kubota head lights? ?

What about a sealed beam replacement light?
I was also thinking of going with a 55 watt regular fog lite bulb which is a lot brighter than standard tail light or back up light bulbs. Would that work?

What's available in auxiliary & work lights?

I'm going to replace the Valve Caps with Red and Blue TIRE FLIES .

 LIGHTS AND LIGHTING

Here is what I did for night use of my snowblower and FEL because the headlights are useless even with halogen bulbs in them. (Which, by the will melt the plastic reflectors and lenses.)

I hope this will not cause a big stink about drilling into the ROPS again.

Not sure about the BX, but the bulbs for the 2910 were a bit better than what was stock on the 7800. The 7800 came stock with 15w bulbs, the 2910 bulbs are 23 watt. I changed my headlights to the 2910 set-up. Not sre about your bulbs, but you may be able to switch to the 2910 23w bulbs. It is an improvement.

I also went to halogen work lights, bolted to the ROPS without drilling, for use with the FEL and snow work at night. That makes the biggest difference.

The B7800f model was pre-wired for the rear work lights. You would need to check your model.

My BX2230 had ignition-hot plugs under the seat. I used one of these to power the work light relay. (tail light lead for switch) My work lights are 35w NON-hallogen lights. They are plenty bright for a BX.

Remember you are not going fast enough to "outspeed" them, and you have a limited amount of juice from a very small dynamo (stock) or a not-much-bigger optional alternator.

Wonder why they use such a poor second rate lighting and electrical system?
This is one of my peeves with my Wards lawn tractor.
My 38 year old Bolens Garden tractor has an automative electrical system with Sealed beam head lights and uses a regular car battery.
No comparison between it and the BX23 or the monkey wards electrical set up.

 LIGHTS AND LIGHTING

Ibrown59

you may want to do what i did with my B2400
i got a piece of 21/2 inch by 3/8 in strap metal
(the length is up to you) I then mounted it on top
of my roll bar and had it extend out about 8 inches
to each side I purchased 4 lights from northern
(you could go with halogen if you really need light)
I mounted two forward and 2 backward and direct wired
them all the way to the battery (I dont like cutting
into existing wiring) I put in 3 switches right behind
the seat, one for everything, one for rear, and one
for the forward WOW what a difference! I think these
are 55watt rated bulbs
good luck

doc
