 sticky hydrostatic - FZ2400

My FZ2400 hydrostatic transmission acts "sticky" - I have to usually tap the reverse pedal, or the zero turn pedal to get it into neutral. The linkage itself is free though, it seems to be internal. Any hints on what the problem could be, potential cost to repair, etc.?

Thanks
Scott

I've never heard of the problem being internal for sticking petals. I'd look them over again before I'd look inside. You didn't say as to how many hours you have on it, you might have a shaft with a bad bushing that is cocking and binding.

Thanks Art -
The machine has ~1530 hours. I purchased it at 1490, and at that time replaced the fluid with the appropriate fluid from Kubota. The linkages actually work very smoothly with the engine off. But when I am driving, and let off the pedal, that is when it "sticks". The pedal itself returns, but it feels like the little roller on the transmission stays in place, so I tap the reverse pedal to ease the roller back. Another interesting thing that leads me to think "internal" - if I push the zero turn pedal when it is acting sticky, that will also help it into neutral. I will however re-check all the linkages based on your recommendation.

Scott

Still having this problem, and it seems to be getting worse. I really notice it under load when pushing snow. I have verified that the linkages are totally free. I have also run the machine for an hour with the drive wheels lifted, to run any air out of the system on anothers recommendation. I can also see the follower on the transmission sticking when the cam that the footpedals control is unloaded. Last chance for thoughts before I start digging deeper..........

Thanks for all the help

Hey Scott,
Your problem with the sticky hydro pedal is probobly the nitrogen cylinder attached to the treddle linkage. My B7300 was like that when new. Seemed to get better after the tractor was warmed up and used a while. It's just a little adjustment to that cylinder linkage is all thats needed. Shoot me an e-mail if you need more info. Tom.

Scott, it seems that any amount of laod you are applying will correct the problem so I'm still going back to the linkage. For the tech's they often raise the machine on stands and disconnect the linkage and see if it is the internals. The worst I've seen is the casing where the lever goes thru being dry and causing the problem.
