 L235DT 4WD

Is $6500 about right, for 83' L235DT 4WD FEL w/ 572 hrs. in good condition. (Stress cracks on FEL frame were welded)
Also, I cant find many discussions on this model tractor...
is it because of its age or....?

It's because it's a Kubota. They just keep performing. Good tractor, excellent buy!!!

I agree with Art, these are good little tractors. I had an L245 prior to my current tractor. I thing $6500 is kinda high. More like $3,500 to $4,500 would be more in line with a reasonable price. That sounds more like a retail price than a price from a private owner. By the way, I still have the power beyond conversion kit plate and hardward for removing the loader if you don't have one. (it covers and recirculated the hyd. oil back to the main res. located in front of and below the driver seat) I paid $50 for it, will let it go for $30.

Affirmative Chief, its from a retailer, as-is! I'm really not too excited about the cracks on the FEL either.
I think I'll bone up some more on tractors here at TP, and find a private seller.

The way I'd interpret stress cracks is not to worry much about the cracks themselves. They happen and good welds are stronger than new. They do say something about use of a tractor and the expected life from front-end components and clutches though.

I didn't notice a weld on the 4wd lever when I bought my used tractor (probably would have bought it anyway). The 4wd linkage broke next year. I also should have noticed a slightly loose steering column. The sector bolts were tightened but it's still a repair bill waiting to happen. A previous owner apparently wasn't a very patient person. It's good to know how a used tractor was worked and in general ones that was used only fr mowing are bargains--unless the mower was over-sized and then pto drives and clutches are suspect.

I think I need to tighten my glasses! I read L2350!!! Sorry as I would buy a L-2350 with that kind of hours on it. They are high as a good L235DT should be about 4500 to 5500 at a dealer maybe 6500 if extremely sharp. Still a good tractor any way for the money.

Chief it's not a matter of just falling into it! It's a matter of do I buy the 1.50 or the 1.75 glasses this time. It's where do you find that fancy hair clipper thing? Or it's go get your own thats mine!

I use the 1.25 for most reading and working but have to resort to the 2.0's for the teadious stuff. Fat fingers! Wink yeah right I did get the eye doc to make me some glasses that really help out when working that they call "double D's" (and sorry guys they don't have the Hooters gal giggling in the lense) They have the D lens in the bottom and top of the glass and you can look through the middle between lenses for non-magnified vision. When working under the truck or tractor undernieth on your back they come in handy.
