 Question for BX B owners

I'm curious how easy it is to sell a used BX/B tractor.

How many owners here have sold their used compact/sub-compact Kubota for what they consider a reasonable price?

And how much time did it take to sell it?

Just curious how robust the used market is for these tractors. I will need whatever I buy for about 2-3 years and then plan to sell it.

Thanks,

DT.

 Question for BX B owners

I don't plan on selling mine for a long, LONG time, but new BX/B models are top sellers at dealerships. If their popularity is that high, you might surmise that used ones should sell fairly well too. Of course you'll take the biggest hit in first year or two, then the depreciation will level off a bit. You could check out Equipment Trader and Ebay to see what the going prices are for similar aged models now.

 Question for BX B owners

I put my BX22 on consignment at a high volume dealer and it disappeared in about 3 weeks.

Good idea DR.

I assume you didn't get killed on the sale price.

There's a high-volume dealer near me. I'll have to ask them about that.

Thanks,

DT.

 Question for BX B owners

I have a 2001 BX2200 and just for ha ha's I threw it on Ebay right after Christmas. It was the 10 cent listing day so I said what the heck. I put the staring bid at a ridiculous $9500 and let it run for 7 days. After 6 days I had 37 watchers and over 1100 hits on the ad. I ended the listing just so some dope 3,000 miles away wouldn't bid in the last 10 minutes. Wouldn't you know I got about 6 emails wanting to buy it with the best ofer at $8500. $8500 is a good offer but I decided to keep it knowing I have a good machine and I wasn't really interested in selling it. BUT I did reach my goal of finding out it was definitly worth at least $8500 with a few real offers.

I figure if I keep it a few more years it will still be worth 6-7k. Mid 80's machines arounf here still sell for 6 grand- go figure.

 Question for BX B owners

The way that I look at it the new and used sub compacts are cutting into the garden tractors place in the industry. Look at the dollar amounts of a high end new garden tractor and compare that to a four wheel drive compact with a USEABLE loader with maybe a couple of hundred hours! The sub compacts have also traded up nicely eliminating much of the sales tax differences on trade in.

You don't have to pay tax in NY if you are farming but for a lawn mower you would.

 Question for BX B owners

I was looking to unload my BX2200 but it's still worth MORE than what I paid for it when I bought it 2 years ago with only 100 hours. I got a great deal on it. The bottom just doesn't fall out on these.

My buddy here in town bought two Mahindra's from my other buddy here in town who is a dealer. He is trying to sell both of them (big one and little one) both have a loader and hoe and he will be lucky to get 1/2 of his $$ back. Reliability and resale are my two deciding factors when I buy something. I truly believe you can buy a B or BX, get everything done you need to and sell it as a 300-500 hour machine and only lose a few bucks. Had you ented a machine for this many hours it would cost double the price of a new one. If you need one go buy it and you can't lose.
