Adjustable top link for Kubota B series - recommendations

I recently bought a used B7500HSD with 60" belly mower, and didn't notice until a few days later that the top link was missing. I tried one from my little Hinomoto, but the Kubota bracket spacing is too narrow (1 5/8" vs normal 1 7/8"Wink yeah right. So I went to Messicks website figuring even Kubota wouldn't charge more than 50-70 bucks for one - wrong! $155. So I was wondering if anyone had any aftermarket brand recommendations or if I should just order a cat 1 shorty (how short?) from Weavers (compacttractorparts.com) for $27 and grind off whatever is necessary for it to fit?

Gearnoise,
You probably can find a Kubota dealership that offers another brand. As to the size (length) you ought to be able to figure that close enough or find it.

I have no idea how close they are on the 3rd arm but I have a B2710 and will measure it for you if need be. On mine you need a third arm that locks for it sure does move it not.

Are you near a Agrisupply store? They back up their products well and prices normally are good.

There's a few different lengths too. What I did is buy one from TSC, cut the tube and screws as I needed and welded the tube back together.

If you have the length, and remote hydraulics consider a hydraulic top link. Once you have one you'll never go back.

kthompson, if you could measure the barrel of your top link I really would appreciate it. Your B2710 is slightly bigger than a B7500 (love their numbering schemes) but maybe the 3 pt hitch stuff is the same or close. I downloaded the 3 pt parts info from Messicks but aside from part numbers and prices it gave no dimensions.
The 3 top links available at Weavers (http://www.compactractorparts.com/hitch_kits.shtml - only one t at the front, I mistakenly put two in my prior post) have the following dimensions:
Barrel, (min length, max length)
9" (13", 19"Wink yeah right
11.25 (15.75, 24)
13 (17.5, 25.5)

My Hinomoto C174 has the 13" barrel but that seems like maybe a bit long for the Kubota. But I'm not going to grind it's ends down to fit the Kubota just to find out.

I appreciate the comment about a hydraulic top link, I had frankly never even thought about it. The Kubota will likely be used 90% of the time for mowing, but it is something to consider for my Allis Chalmers.

The barrel is 14 inches. The center of the pin screws down to 1 1/2 inches from the barrel for an screwed in length of 17 inches center of pin hole to center of pin hole. The full length of the end is 5 inches of threads (not usable length probably about 2 inches less) or center of pin to center of pin right at 27 inches again need to subtract about 2 inches for threads to be sufficient in the barrel so about 25 working length.

Thanks for measuring for me! Looks like I'll be ordering the 13" barrel from Weaver's tomorrow - it seems to be a pretty close match to your dimensions. And in general I've more often experienced problems with my top links being too long for an implement than too short, so that 1" barrel length difference doesn't concern me.
Of course I'll always wonder what exotic metal or machining technique Kubota uses to justify their price on such a simple mechanical device....

That does seem to be high for a top link for that size tractor. Maybe a Cat 3 it makes sense.

At same time I priced some simple parts from Volvo and found them for an aftermaket company for 24 to 33% of Volvo's price. Bought a thermstat sending unit from Volvo a couple of months back and it was very reasonable. Find it initeresting how the price can vary with any company.
