How do I locate a Dealer Cost Price List for Kubota BX series. I am interested in purchasing one in the next 2 months. Probably the BX2350.

uhhhh-----pay an insider? I dunno, seems like that kind of info is only available to a limited number of those in-the-know. That said, if you are/were a Ford employee, you can get---if the dealer participates---dealer cost. I saved $3500 on my New Holland that way. The dealer gets to keep a 6% holdback of the retail price so he still makes money just like a car dealer selling Ford products.

Truth be told (this coming from a CUT consumer and businessman myself) it's not fair or right for you to try to get dealer cost--they have to make a profit in order to stay in business to service your sale so that you can come back and buy a new one later...and so the circle goes.

I know that New Car Dealer cost are available from Edmonds.com. You can go to a dealer with that information and agree on a selling price. The same information for tractors should be available as well. I just don't know where to look. It can't be that much of a guarded secret with all the dealers around. ....

Keep in mind there are technical differences in dealer cost, dealer invoice, and factory invoice. Dealer cost, as anyone who has bought a new tractor will tell you, can be any number a dealer cooks up---like overcharging for something that's already on the tractor or part of a package like a control valve for a loader, or a 3 point hitch, etc.---and can include anything from a preparation charge to fueling up. A dealer invoice can be inflated too and is similar if not the same and dealer cost---it's an invoice fabricated by the dealer usually for use by the salespeople so that the customer doesn't know the true cost. Factory invoice is what the true cost is genrally does not include such things as interest, transportaion etc. When I bought both my New Holland CUT and skid steer the dealership owner himself showed me the actual factory invoices. The CUT invoice he was required to show me since I was buying it through the Ford employee discount program. The skid steer didn't qualify for the Ford discount, bu since I bought the CUT from him he generously let me have the skid steer at the same rate of 6% hold back, or 6% over his factory invoice cost. ....

I read some time ago on this valuable board that you should expect a discount of 10% to 20% off the MSRP on your CUT, as a reasonable final price. ....

For what it's worth, I took delivery of a BX2350 on the 20th of July:
1. BX2350 w/ 54"MMM = $10,380
2. Front End Loader = $1850
3. 50" snow blower = $2900
All in all, I think this was a fair deal. ....

Phil, it's important to be sure the options and standard equipment are equal or comparable in value. You can even find variations within the brand or make of a tractor. ....

Art,
I got 2 quotes from my local dealers.
The were for the same equipment configuration i.e.
BX 2350 4WD W/Turf tires and 54" fine cut mowing deck.
NOT plumbed for a front loader. A $300.00 Option

1st Dealer Price = $10,000.00 + 7% Tax
2nd Dealer Price = $ 9,900.00 + 7% Tax

Adding a Kubota CCK60-23BX - 3 bag grass catcher PTO Driven

1st Dealer Price = $1,700.00 + 7% Tax
2nd Dealer Price = $1,650.00 + 7% Tax

1st Dealer total Package $11,700.00 + 7% Tax
2nd Dealer total Package $11,550.00 + 7% Tax

What do you think is a fair price for the Total Package ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Phil ....

I can't speak to the price but for the difference it would be far better to go for the dealer with the best service department and reputation. Did you get better vibes from one dealer than the other? When you buy a tractor you marry the dealer (sort of). ....

List prices for Kubota (and other brands) as of 1/1/2006 are listed at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/equipment/contracts/tr_cpt_utl____shrt%20version/index.html
This is the state of MN site. They have another doc available for download that shows their usual discounts. For Kubotas it's 18-20% depending on the model and 12-14% on implements. ....
