Looking at either a CK or a 1914. I was wondering how much the industrial tires might effect my lawn. My lawn is not perfect, but I don't want to put ruts in it. Thanks.

On a lawn the R4s should be a compromise between AG and turf tires. They will definately tear things up less than the AG tires.

I have R-4's on my Kubota B-7800 with the bucket full of dirt and was driving over the lawn after it thawed out and was quite soft. The R-4's didn't really leave that big of an imprint which I was quite impressed. On my smaller machine I used to have with turfs, it didn't leave any imprint, but I needed more traction and didn't want the ag's because they rip the yard up. I think the R-4's are a nice comprimise between not rutting the yard and traction. They also may the tractor feel more stable, but in the same token the ride is a little rough. I've had all 3 types of tires on my lawn and the ag tires were way to agressive and the turfs didn't give me enough traction.
Do like I did when I went to the dealer for a test drive I put it in 4X4 and went down the lot on the grass in mid range and cranked the wheel as sharp as it would go to see what kind of damage it would do which was very little.
Good luck ....

R4's are industrial? I am guessing you have to take it easy when turning? I have a small Craftsman tractor now with turf tires and the lawn is fine. ....

You definitely don't want to use the brake when turning on the lawn, but I have found that it depends on how high the grass is. I keep mine around 3 inches and haven't had any problem unless it is real soft and I keep going back and forth in the same spot.
R-4's are industrial tires.
Just keep in mind the larger machine that you get, the sharp turns will cut the sod regardless of the tire type. A friend of mine has a L-3010 with turfs and said if he cuts the wheel sharp it will cut the sod. ....

As already stated the R-4's are a good compromise tire. Use 4WD to minimize tire damage on the lawn when things are soft and wet. ....
