 DK35 Broke ouch

DK35 with 32 hours on it. has a allied loader with sub frame back to rear axle. and 3 point backhoe. was working near a trench and one front tire slid in. went to lift some of the weight off with the loader so I could back out and the bell housing broke all the way around....OUCH. Took it to the dealer, they split the thing open and there was an old rusted crack in the casting. probably that way from the factory. anyway Kioti took care of it although it took a little while to get the cast housing from the factory. but this appears to be a fluke. otherwise very pleased with it.

I'm glad to hear the problem was taken care of for you.
This is the first time I've heard this happen on a Kioti.
And hopefully the last.

thanks for the posting. I have the same model with 54 hrs on it and am interested to hear the the problems which come up. I have a left side break which isnt engaging. Im tolde a pin or something may have popped out inside the break housing. I'll keep the result posted. Good luck with it.

I have a DK 45 and I was moving round bales and the same thing happened to me. I contacted the dealer and he stated what ever it take they will make it right. I only had 29 hours on mine. For the short time I've had it I love it. I'll let you know what happens when it is returned.
Newt.

I have a 3ph hoe. It suits my needs since I seldom call on it for heavy-duty work. When I mount it I use the lowest pinholes on top-link mounting bracket. I believe the lowest pin position has the least leverage to apply load to the bell-housing area.

Even so, with three problems reported in one day, it does sound like Kioti might be taking a look at their designs or QC. It's good to hear that they are standing behind their product, which is what you've got to expect from an equipment manufacturer. Other manufacturers have dealt with similar situations and redesigned components have been supplied. I'd stick close to a dealer to see if a factory fix is in the works and maybe try to avoid heavy loads in the meantime.

Guys,
It proves my long standing point that 3pt hoes are not the culprits in tractors breaking. I believe all the stress on sub frames is focused in the bell housing areas. So far no reported cases of breakage with Mazzotti hoes.

Mine dose not have a hoe on it. I was just using the front end loader. The dealer ordered a new one (Bell) from NC and stated it should be good as new by the end of this week.

I think that many loader frames as well as hoe sub-frames apply load to the bell housing area. If I understand the geometry, the object of these mounts is to distribute loads, and about the only place to distribute it to is the middle of the tractor. I think engineering is pretty complex and it is good to hear that Kioti is standing behind their tractors.

My loader frame lift arm pivot mounts bolt to the cases just ahead of the TX/engine joint. The load may be divided between the pivot points and front axle, but I'd guess that a heavy load in the bucket is still sort of like suspending the rear end and using the cases as a fulcrum. Some of those round bales sure are heavy. I know that top-link compression when digging with my 3ph hoe tries to jack-knife the tractor at the case joints but I can't really see that most sub-frames would change things that much. I'd still rather have something to distribute load away from the top-link mount for heavy-duty work though.

I would agree. Tom, I think that a lot of people don't realize that front end loaders place way more stress on a tractor than a backhoe alone. The weight and height that it has to lift places much leverage on the bell housing area.
