 JD 2210 vs Kubota BX-2200

I am in the market for a small tractor. I can't decide between the JD 2210 or Kubota BX-2200. Can someone please give me some input which one is the better tractor and why? Has anyone had any problems with their JD 2210 and if so, did you have problems with servicing? I have read several complainants about Kubota dealers not having parts in-stock!

If you buy either of these tractors, I'd bet the only parts you will need for the first five or ten years would be filters and fluids.

If you are mowing you might need a belt or a blade sooner or later.... it will not require a warehouse to support your needs and you can buy parts on line from several sources.

The 2210 and the BX are very closely matched in virtually every catagory...... it may come down to which one feels the best under you.

I just recently went though the same decision. I went with the 2210 (obviously). There are pro's and con's both ways, but here are the reasons why I went with Deere

1) Better 3PH design (longer links, more ground clearance)
2) Better balanced with FEL (in my opinion)
3) Easy FEL attach/detach (I can do it in under 4 minutes and that is taking my time)
4) I like the FEL SCV location better (I don't have to reach to operate the FEL)
5) Two pedals instead of the one
6) I work for a Deere Supplier
7) Nothing Runs Like a Deere

The only con I have with the 2210 is they do not have a bagger system for it as of yet. I know I could put a kit together with deere parts, but I don't need a bagger yet.

Either machine would be a great tractor.

Russell,

I am on the phone with V & V Equipment in SC at this time. What is the name of the salesman you used at the dealer and when did you buy?

Russell,

I spoke with Jerald on the phone and he was able to locate your price. He gave me a quote of $12,300 with loader and 62" mower. He quoted me 5' box blade for $349. I gave the quote to my dealer here in Houston and he matched it. I feel pretty good about the price. No one else has been close. Thanks for the information. By the way, have you had any problems with the tractor or is there anything you don't like about it?

A 5 foot rear blade would be OK on a 2210 or BX, but a 5 foot box scraper might be a bit too much of a good thing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already spoke with my dealer and he advised that a 4' box scraper would be better than a 5'. I will go with the 4' instead.

Thanks again,

Jeff

I have a 5'box blade. I haven't used it heavily yet, but I have no problems with the larger BB.

I love my 2210. The only thing that I've had a problem with is the deck and FEL. The FEL takes a couple of times attaching/detaching before you get comfortable/quick doing so. The first time I detached it, it was a pain to get back on, but that was my fault. The second time it went on with no problems.
The deck wasn't set up quite right (on the height adjustment) when I got it, but I've got that fixed now. After taking care of those two things, I have NO problems whatsoever, except for it's rained too much here and I haven't gotten enough seat time Smile
