Auction tomorrow.
sn 202823 w/145 6' materials bucket loader.
34538 hours.
How much to bid/what is it worth?
Tractor seems nice.
Are the hours too much to consider buying?
Thanks for any help as I know nothing about these tractors.

Did you mean 34,538 hrs. or 3,453.8? I am thinking the latter. I would pay close attention to area's such as the clutch and pto. Has the machine been left out in the weather or kept under cover or inside? Rubber? You didn't go into much detail in these area's. I would think between $3,000 to $4,000 depending upon condition and appearance. Expect the price to go above that as folks will get high bid fever when green paint is involved. ;O) ....

34,538 hours
It is freshly painted.
All his tractors were kept inside.
I don't know what it looked like before the repaint
for his retirement sale.
One of the rear tires is damaged on the side.
Machinery link has the following values for this:
Premium $7,967
Good $6,868
Fair $4,954
I have no experience in this field and
I don't know if it is good or Fair. ....

I don't believe it possible to have that many hours and still be in one piece, let alone look decent. Check the hour meter, the last digit may be a different color or there may be a mark over it to signify tenths. I would expect it to go for 5- 7000 and it is among many older tractors that have ceased depreciating providing you give them moderate care. If you can buy it for a fair price, you could probably sell it in 5 or more years for what you paid provided you don't rack up loads of hours. If you truly need that much size and are willing to trade size for lack of 4x4, it may be fine. ....

I suppose it is possible to accrue that many hours if the tractor was used extensively to run a pto generator or pond aerator for fish production but that would be at least 3 rebuilds and probably more. Check the meter again to see it that last digit is tenths and take a digital photo. I want to see that hour meter. LOL! ;O) That or someone left the key in the ON position a LONG time! ;O) I would give MUCH less if the tractor actually had that much time on it even if rebuilt. ....

Come to think of it. I bet John Deere would pay some SERIOUS money to buy that tractor back if all of the maintanence records were present to verify the actual time on that machine. Talk about some good advertising material. "Nothing Runs as Long as a Deere!" ;O) ....

I believe that older models like that have a mechanical hour meter tied to the tach, so it would truly be a revolution meter in a sense. Idling would not rack up many hours even though it was running. ....

In my opinion, "fair" is closer to rough but running and all functioning, leaks, blowby bent sheetmetal, balding or cracked up tires, maybe some welded bits here and there or a few cracks. If they bothered to repaint and it is not a spraypaint job, it is more likely "good". ....

This is amazing. I hope I get half that much life out of my deere. I did the math.
34538 Hours =
1439 days
3.94 years
34.7 dog years

Wow, I am impressed! Someone must have a numb bottom. ....

I must have made a mistake.
I wrote down those numbers, it was getting dark.
I have never seen a John deere Odometer before.
Therefore I don't know where to place the decimal point.
