10 years is pretty good on a Chinese clutch, unless it's a barn queen. How many hours on the tractor? I ask, because adjustment should be considered - before replacement.

Yup, whoever you loaned it to didn't understand about riding the clutch pedal. Not uncommon, especially a novice doing loader work. I recommend you purchase an entire clutchpack, to include throwout and pilot bearings. That's the fastest way of putting your tractor back to work. Then you can assess/rebuild the OE clutch at your leisure, and possibly shelf it as a hot spare.

But don't assume that these clutches are ready to install right out of the box. Without exception they should be adjusted to spec before installation. It's possible to do this after bolting it to the flywheel, but I prefer the bench method.

Don't know about the "best place" but Circle G Tractor in Mississippi probably has the parts in stock.

To Indiana, I'd say DelJen Power Equipment in Waupaca, WI. Clutchpack is heavy, freight costs keep going up. So the closer the better

"Clutch-on-splines" won't work with this machine. The nested splines come forward out of the mid-connect housing. Whereas a clutch alignment tool is handy, I didn't find it necessary. The PTO spline can be seated by turning the rear PTO stub by hand, the drive spline can be seated by turning the crank pulley by hand.

I prefer to make adjustments to a new clutchpack on the bench. Besides being more accurate than doing it on the flywheel, the bench method much easier on the back. That way you simply install the new pilot bearing, and bolt the already-adjusted clutchpack to the flywheel. The important thing with the bench method is to bolt the clutchpack to a piece of 3/4" plywood before making any adjustments. That way you replicate the spring pressures present during the flywheel method.
