Farmpro 2425 does not want to move in normal gears but will in low gears but doesn't seem to have much power. Would low transmission fluid be the problem.

Also when I advance the throttle it slows down until I move back to a lower speed

Thanks in Advance

JeraldB,

I believe you have a partially plugged fuel filter.

Hope this helps.

Tractor has manual transmission, hence no transmission fluid. The gear box shares gear oil with the rear differential and the mid-connect box. Fuel is not the issue either, you described the classic symptom of a worn clutch disc. Time to start researching Jinma clutchpack repair/replacement.

JeraldB,

If you'd like to test the clutch, there are a few ways of doing it, with no expense involved.

Hook one end of a large chain (do not use a nylon rope!) to your rear drawbar, then secure the other end of the chain to the base of a large tree, or some other immovable object. Put the tractor in 4th gear and attempt to pull. If your clutch is bad, the tractor won't stall.

If the tractor grunts and dies, this doesn't mean the clutch is good. Try pulling the tree in first gear. If the tires spin and the tractor remains running, your clutch is likely in good shape.

Do not attempt to pull any tree that may come out of the ground, or tip over on you!

Hope this helps.

Don't, Your opening description is really all that is necessary. Trying to pull down a tree will likely just cook off what's left of your main drive friction disc. I'm only about 190 miles away if you need some hands-on help with this.

I adjusted the clutch arm and now the tractor moves and I am able to push snow. I will probably still have the clutch work on but maybe I'll be able to mow for a while
Thanks all for the help ....

Depends upon where/how you "adjusted the clutch arm". You may have done so at the expense of something else. The PTO for example, or the clutch release fingers. If they're making permanent contact with the throwout bearing now, you're looking at a more extensive clutch repair job in the future.

These Chinese clutchpacks and linkages don't work like old Fords or Masseys or the like. The relationship between the components is such that there's a definite sequence to proper adjustment. When adjustments are made out of sequence, trouble usually follows.
