Hey guys am going to be changing out my hrdraulic pump.Theres a shaft that comes out the front I assume it goes in a gear,Do I have to unbolt the front cover has well or just the bolts that hold the pump on.to change it out,and how does the gear come off ?

There is a male tang on the driven end of the pump shaft; typically flat on two opposing sides, and somewhat rounded on the other two. The drive gear from which it was removed has a female slot of the similar proportions. Once the pump is removed, inspect the drive gear slot. If it shows any signs of damage or wear, replace it at the same time you replace the pump.

And yes, the front cover has to come off for a gear change. In fact, you'll likely have to remove the radiator as well, if for no other reason than to get working clearance.
