Appreciate some advice on problem with my Ford 3600 tractor. If engine is off and lift arms down and lift lever in raise position, when tractor is cranked, arms raise immediately no matter how big the load. If engine is running and lift lever is moved to raised position, arms respond slowly no matter load size and takes anywhere from 3 to 6 seconds to respond.

I have two thoughts and both simple. When it is off the oil has chance to fully drain and when you crank up it raises the lift quickly compared to when it is running because the oil is low. The other is the oil has air or water in it and when running it is thinner than when it sits and separates. I think you need to check your oil level first and if that is fine when have you changed the oil? kt ....

Could there be slack in the linkage or not properly adjusted that is not quickly moving the linkage so when it is moved while running you can see the delay but when it is cranked with linkage up there is no lag in the engagement?

Other thought is the steering possibly pulling power form the lift when it is running where as when cranking it would think you are not using the steering?
