I own a 1999, 7305 Cub Cadet Tractor with hydrostatic transmission which was purchased new. I have performed regular maintenance for the years I have owned it. Over the past couple years I’ve noticed the tractor seems to be losing drive power when I go up an incline. I used to be able to go up a particular hill in mid range with no load in or on the machine. Now I can only go up the same hill in low range. Additionally, I get some smoke from the exhaust. Also, when the tractor is on level ground, it has difficulty moving in high range. It almost feels like there is a drag or that the brake is being applied. It seems to move backwards with less trouble. The machine has plenty of power at the front end loader and the backhoe (with no smoke). It just seems to be problematic when driving forward, and especially uphill. Has anyone here experienced anything like this and have any advice or ideas? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
