Yes there are others. There is a guy in my town that has moved over 100,000 cu. yds. of fill with a 28hp Kubota and a scraper like the one on the referred to website. I don't know who made the one he is using but it sure moved a lot of dirt! He is a retired builder that bought some land to develop and just started moving the hill to the valley. I has taken him over 2 yrs. on and off of moving. He said that he is not interested in getting a real mover as it keeps him out of the house. LOL>... what a way to do it. HIs is about 6 ft and hauls about twice what his loader would haul. could ask him if i run into him but he goes south for winter.

I was wondering if anybody has seen the new Case compacts. They look the same as the New Hollands but with a red and grey paint job. I must say the truckload I saw was sharp but went by too fast. Just wondered if anybody had a chance for an upclose inspection.

You want to talk about fill....I had to raise the whole 40x80 5 feet to get out of a flood plain. I knew it of course ahead of time, the cost was fairly high.
My shed is continueing to mutate to the needs of the times. I add and I take away. Yours will too. Enjoy the project.

Let me give you one piece of advise. I have owned about every type of trailer there is for hauling trailers. This summer I purchased a Hydratilt trailer by H&H Trailer. This unit is one of the best investments for time and labor savings I have made in many years. The unit i purchased was a 10400 lbs. trailer with a push button hydralic. It cost me $3800, and without a doubt saved me at least this much in time. There is no messing with ramps, as the trailer tilts. It is very well made, sturdy without question. The convienence of being able to up and down the thing is unbelievable. Ted, This is not a start up company. They have made hard rock mining equipment for a long time. The machine is a direct decendent of such equipment. I have used one of these (model 1400) and they are impressive. If i owned a landscaping company I would have one in a minute. These are well built(overbuilt as far as the 1400). Most of the mechanicals are off the shelf, the others are very sturdy. The biggest advantage of the Power-trac is that it will go across a manicured lawn with a load and not damage it. I have not seen this with a skid steer or construction tractor. The low center of gravity is a huge advantage in hilly terrain. There is no tractor that can hold a hill like this machine. I own 3 compact tractors and I think I might by a Power-trac to replace my oldest tractor. It is very versatile. No it is not a L/B/T, it is a utility machine that is light and I think durable. Just my 2 cents.

I have used this model of trac and blow. It should throw the snow at least 40 to 60 feet. Mine did for the 60 hrs I used it. Never had a problem as you describe with light powder or heavy slush. There is something not right with yours. I wonder if a shear pin is broken some where. forward speed does play a role, there is a happy medium to that. Oherwise something is not right. This exhausts my expertise on the matter. Probably not much help. sorry

Try this one. I own a 10000lbs hydralic tilting flatbed of the make. It was inexpensive compared to any other i have seen and it saved me about 50 hrs this year. That alone was worth it. the link is www.hhtrailer.com I got mine for about $3800. That is a price that is hard to beat. This company makes a dump model that is nice but i don't know the pricing. I would not trade my hydratilt for any other trailer. Hope this helps.

The lift height of the power trac is on the website specs. ranges from52 in to i think 9 ft. don't quote me on that, been a while since i looked. anyway, the best part about the machine is that it is real easy on the established lawns.

I own a 4400. I have pallet forks and did an incremental test (50lbs at a time)to see how much it would lift. I got to 1250 plus the pallet (around 1300) and it would only lift it about 4 feet. I know the 4300 has about the same capacities, I hope this helps you in your quest.

Toro also makes one. Aero thatch 83. It is the same as the old olathe thatcher seeder. I own one and it works very well. Hope this helps.

Michael, This is Mike from Iowa. We commiserated on the ownership problems of the 4400 last year. From the looks of this post, you have given up the ship. I wish you the best. I got a what I paid for it from my dealer last year on a trade for a 4600. I ended up not taking the 4600 and getting a new 4400 even trade. It has been night and day difference. The new machine was great. I recently was having trouble with it freewheeling in neutral pedal position. I have just been informed that I need a new tranny. Sound familiar, my dealer called me and let me know yesterday. WOW, what next..... All I can say is that I really like the machine and would not trade for a NH tc33. My friend has one and it is seriously underpowered for my needs. The JD is the only one of this size and horsepower. This is the only problem I have had so we will see. Thank God for a good mechanic and a dealer that seems to care a little. Once again, wish you the best, mike

I have a 4400 with R-3turfs. I have used this tractor for many things. The one that comes to mind that would ruin my turfs as most have said did nothing. I graded a old scrapyard, more than 100 years of shredded iron and steel scrap. When I took the job I built in a tire blowout price. I rototilled and then scarified the area(3+ acres). I churned up more crap and sharp items than I would be able to count. To make a long story short, no flats, no leaks, no cuts. I do not have a flat preventer in my tires or any special precautions. I also use my bucket for lifting pallets that are at the limit of the loader and no problems. I do mow a lot of finished lawns and would not dream of using R-4's. I had them for a while at the insistance of my dealer (with the agreement that if I did not like them he would take them back). They lasted less than a week, too many ruts. Have you ever seen R-4's on a tractor used for golf course maintenance?

I have two cigarette lighter adapters wired to my aux light then have lights with heavy duty magnets that stick to my rollbar. This comes in handy when using the loader at night for better lighting ahead and to turn around when working the 3pt. I also use the cig lighter for a bright flasher. what I like about it is the flexibility. I got the lights from northern hydralics which i admit were not that great. I have since used the magnets to attach to a better light called a Blaster. much better. hope this helps.

This is amazing, here they sent a very simple pin on device. This mod was all of 2 pins and thats it. IMHO, I would rather put the damn thing on now as soon as i got it rather than wait for the dealer to schedule me in, take the machine there, go back and get it. From the time I opened the box, to the time it took to read the directions, to on the machine was a total of 3 mins. 3 minutes verses 3 hrs to take to the dealer. I won by putting it on myself. was easier than hooking up a 3pt attachment.

Just a note about lift capacity. I have a 4400 with the 430,60 inch bucket and the palletforks. I know that my machine will lift 1250#'s to a height of 5 ft. 1000#'s to as high as you dare. you need a significant counterweight, and do not turn fast or sharp!!!!! My 4400 does this day in and day out. My friend owns a tc33d that is mainly used to mow. His machine had a hard time filling and lifting a full bucket of pea gravel. I was very suprised by this. Maybe it was the weight of the machine or something. Mine had no problem. I like mine for what I do with it(earn a living). I like his for what he does with it(mow his yard). just my 2 cents.

I use a Freedom Hitch, it is expensive but also a back, finger, and time saver. Have it on many implements and tractors. I rely on it because it is quick and works well with pto equipment. just my 2 cents. mike

Hey guys,
i too have the 4400 that has the new axel. it has been a joy to work with and own.......now. prior i was not too happy about the whole axle thing, but the tractor performed great. By the way, this is the second 4400 that i owned, the first one the dealer bought back at my cost and got me 4600 that i turned down because of the size of it. I ended up taking another 4400 that was a newer model and it has been great. the first 4400 had too many probs and i just didn't trust it. it had all the problems Mike has described, and then some. anyway, i had 3 deeres prior and they were good machines so i gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried another one. I'm glad i did. hope everyone else gets the best out of their dealer, i think that is the weak link in the chain. good luck.

just a note for you disappointment terry. A friend of mine got a tc33d NH. he has never owned a CUT and I helped him take the loader and the mower off for the first time the other day. Let me just say the ergonomics of his trac, are nicer. but the functionality of quick atttachments is a joke. the loader must be perfectly lined up to hookup. the mower is a real pain, must use the loader to push the front off the ground to get the mower out and the height adjustment is hard too. The biggest thing is the power of the NH, it is much underpowered compared to mine. For only 2 HP diff it will not even come close to my JD when pushing the bucket. I was really suprised. It is an excellent mowing machine. and adequate for general use, but I don't think it would hold up as well as my JD's for my purposes.

Did anyone get thier JD loader safety upgrade kit
