If it has glo plugs pull them and do a compression check. Check both dry and wet. Check fuel filter and fuel vent cap, white smoke indicates unspent fuel while both could indicate timing or internal compression issues.

I have used for many years used hydraulic fluid in my chain saw oiler, I mix STP oil treatment with a gallon of oil then use. Chain saw uses a little more oil but itā€™s economical to make and use.

Oil seals on my Massey Ferguson right side started leaking about 12 years ago so I disassembled and ended up replacing the oil seals and it still remains dry but this year the left side has started leaking so I just picked up both oil seals for that side. I will definitely not buy bearings until I disassemble it and check it out due to the expense of the bearing, I donā€™t think the bearing is bad but itā€™s always a possibility. Itā€™s not a difficult job but due to the size of the parts take your time and work safe.

What are the considerations when changing a 2 spool joystick controller on my Massey 1428V. Flow rate and ?, are there other factors when exchanging one controller from another. I have access to other 2 spool controllers.

My Massey has 3 safety switches that I can think of, there is a switch located on the bottom of the seat that indicates if you're sitting on the tractor. There is another switch on the high, low, super low shifter that indicates if the tractor is in gear, mine is located under the deck where the gear engagement lever enters the case. Then another switch that indicates if the PTO is engaged but I'm not sure where exactly that is located but you should be able to trace the PTO engagement lever and locate it. If your Massey has a hydrostatic drive then look for the gear engagement switch look around the gear engagement lever.

The knob that you are referring to is for the the 3 point arm speed for up and down movement.

You may have a loose connection on your seat switch or switch may be loose and need readjustment.

There must be a seal on your steering box attached on the end of your steering shaft.

Does anyone know where I can buy parts for my Massey Ferguson online due to the distances that I live from the dealer.<br>
I'm not looking for cheaper parts but it would be nice to order online and receive parts via UPS or Fed Ex without having to drive and take time off from work to go there.
