I am not sure if you got your question answered about the bagger, but I find it very useful. I have about 3/4 of an acre with lots of oak trees. It sure beats raking. The mower and bagger chop of the leaves pretty good. It might take 3-4 stops in the fall, but sure beats raking.

The new bagger is supposed to be much easier to get on and off than the unit that was made for the 2230.

Thanks Art, you were a lot of the reason I bought a Kubota and I am very happy with it. I happened to get to know the Product Manager for the compact tractors and he even had his engineering people produce a new procedure to put the bagger on and off. It helps, I would just think they would like to tell the world they are as good as the green machine or better.

I would also check the U joints. One of mine on my BX 2230 started to bind a little. I replaced it, now it is much better. You should take the mower deck off to check the U points.

Yes, his machine is new. Mine is broken in. Anyway the fuel consumption is much less than his previous machine. I think he said he it is a least twice as good as the gas equivalent. Both machines are HST drive. He just traded a 585 for this 748. They made him a great deal he could not resist.

You will be happy to know that wood has been moved and soon will be burned up. Is there a reason you should not stack wood between trees? These are 75 years old oak trees.

AV8R, I will try the 1/2 inch board. I actually tried a 3/4 inch board and it worked pretty well. I did not have to use a car jack to line up the center pin.

Also I sent your web site link to the Product Manager at Kubota and he sent it on to his engineers suggesting that they need to as good of job as you did on your web site. This is a good example of how this forum works really well.

I have a BX 2230 with an FEL and I can only say that it really digs well or much better than I expected. It is actually much better at digging out rocks than I expected. I have dug out rocks that are far to heavy to pick up, but I can push them. My guess is the 1500 should work about the same.

I believe that John Deere feels they must compete on a world-wide basis. If any of you have seen the 2004 John Deere calendar its theme is John Deere around the world. Based on business examples I have seen such as Black and Decker, who decided not to compete in Japan because they felt strong enough in the US and did not need to compete in Japan. The next thing that happened is the Japanese tool makers invaded the US and the rest is history. I think the lesson learned by Black and Decker has been told in many board rooms around the country. I think John Deere needs to compete on a world wide basis and use the same resources that others might use to compete against our US based companies.

Ambernstein, Thanks for the advise. I am going to be purchasing a BX 2230 shortly with the bagger. Sounds like the right choice. is the 54" MMM. I also have some tight spots. I don't live to far from you I live in Hopkinton.

I have been comparing the X series, 2210 and the BX family and for my needs the BX seems to be the best price for the quality and performance. I saw a BX 23 this weekend and it has a real nice set up for the contols and hydraulics as compared to the BX 22 for the loader.

Does anyone know someone with a Mower and Bagger system on a BX 1500? I am told that this system is much less noisy than the Deere 5XX series with a Powerflow system.<br>

I test drove a BX 1500 and was very impressed with the little tractor. The FEL also seemed excellent.<br>
