If you are wanting to cut a 20 to 30 acre pasture on a regular basis, you had better get a larger tractor as it will take forever with a 4 ft cutter. Unless the pasture is short and not that thick you may be able to sneak up to a 60" otherwise you will have to stay with the 48" cutter.

A box scraper is a good all around tool to have. You can use it to scrape dirt, stone, whatever. If you lower the rippers you can even dig with it. Some box blades have a blade on the rear to push with also.

What is really scary is that kids in chat rooms use their own language so to speak when talking with each other so even if their parents are looking over their shoulder they have no clue what is going on. I saw a show on that on Dateline or something similar. If you have kids, you need to educate yourself as much as you can on computers.

I bought a set of the light duty ones. They arrived very quickly and are quite handy. I too was concerned about the cutting edge but the way they are designed it doesn't really stress the cutting edge. I've moved 3 railroad ties that were in pretty good shape and weighed about 200 to 250 lbs each. It does feel a little weired with weight that far out and that wide.
On another note I went to pick up a large stack of industrial pipe and the FEL wouldn't lift it and nothing was bent so it seems as long as you don't rip and tear it won't hurt the bucket. They are well worth the money.

I had the same problem with my old B7200. The end of the crank was worn and we put a brass bushing in the end of the crank and then used the pilot bearing. It only last a year or so. I then sent an e-mail to Tractorsmart and Ronnie Bowman talked me through what to do. I ended up getting a bearing pressed into the flywheel and then had to have the input shaft cut down to fit in there. I sold it to my brother and he is still using it every week. Some friends of my dad's did the lathe work and pressing in the bearing. Shoot Ronnie an e-mail over at tractorsmart.com and he will walk you through the whole process.

Once you rolled your tractor, I think you officially lost your yuppie status and became a crazy country person like myself.

Of course I wonder if I am a yuppie? I work in Washington D.C. and wear a shirt and tie everyday as a professional, however I live in the country. As far as the age, I sometimes feel like I'm 50 and my hairline is probably equivalent to a 50 year old, but still under 35.

I use a 5 footer on my 7800 and it works great. I mowed a field for my brother in law and the grass was thick and around 4 foot high. I had to go to low range and creep along. I wouuld say it depends on how often you are going to cut the field. If you are going to cut it about once or twice a month I would go for the 72" but if you are only going to cut it 3 or 4 times a year, then go smaller.

I think the lube thing depends on where you get it from. My dealer had mine filled with fluids and had greased it. I did need to put some in the gear box part though.
I have been truly amazed at how well this tiller has performed. I am in the process of putting in an above ground pool and of course there was a slope where I wanted it at. After a few passes with the tiller at its fullest depth, it was where I needed it to be. I was really impressed with how it tilled right in on the virgin soil.

As far as the vibration, I would say the tiller was too high in the air as Frank said. On my tiller (not a KK tiller), it states in the operators manual not to raise the tiller off the ground more than 8 inches when engaging the PTO or with the PTO engaged.

Don't worry about compaction when mowing with the loaded tires on the 7800. I mowed all last year with my 7800 which had loaded tires and sometimes I even left the loader on to see what it would do to the yard. It didn't really hurt it unless it was really wet and I made a sharp turn. I mow at arond 3" and you can't even see where my tires were a few hours after mowing.

It you go with the 72" MMM, make sure that it will fit wherever you are storing your tractor. My shed door is only 6 foot wide and I had to get the 60"MMM as the 72" wouldn't fit.
I used my 7800 all last year to mow with and didn't have any problem with compaction or tearing the yard up. I have loaded R-4's and they worked like a champ mowing. I did remove the loader most of the time because of clearance around my yard.

I'm not sure what type of AWD they have, but I know the AWD in my Explorer isn't as good as a true 4 wheel drive.
It could be they don't have the torque to spin the wheels and I would imagine the newer AWD's are more sophisticated with computers controlling switching the power.
That was one thing that was hard to do when I got my AWD explorer compared to my old Bronco II 4 wheel drive. In the Explorer when you start to notice wheel spin you don't let off like you do in a 4 wheel drive, you just keep the pedal steady and the computer searches the 4 wheels for traction. Just my observation. I like the new Expeditions that have 4 wheel hi, 4 wheel low, AWD, and 2 wheel drive depending on the condition.

I have the exact same problem on my old B7200. It basically started because of the way the input shaft goes into the end of the crank to keep it straight. There is a little bearing or something that goes in the end of the crank for the input shaft to ride on. On mine the little bearing thing went bad and rounded out the end of the crank shaft which caused the clutch to get rounded out as well. I thought I was going to have to replace the crank, but after e-mailing back and forth with Ronnie at Tractorsmart.com, I had the input shaft milled down and then had a bearing pressed into the flywheel. It worked like a champ and my brother is still using it today. Even though you replaced the clutch if that input shaft is flopping around inside it is putting the clutch on a bind or something. I would do something quick before you ruin your new clutch

It is what it is. It has been discussed and proven that KK stuff is on the lower end of quality. I have looked at their boxblades and their rear blades. Their boxblade quality doesn't even come close to the quality of my Befco boxblade nor does their backblade come close to the quality of my Woods rear blade. Thus the reason for the cheaper prices. Just look at how it hooks to the lower links on the 3 pth. The KK uses a pin for the arm to go over where as the Woods uses two pieces of steel for the arm to go between and and pin go through. That is much stronger. I'm not going into everything, just remember that heavier is not always better, you have to look at the welds, paint, thickness of steel, etc. I didn't say KK was cheap, I just said it was lower quality. As a matter of fact, if I wouldn't have gotten the Woods at the price I did, I would have gotten the KK tiller. Don't get pissed at me for voicing my opinion. You don't have to justify your purchase to me. If you are happy with it then good for you.

The 3 pt hitch on the 7800 is similar to a log splitter in that you push and hold the handle down until you want it to stop and it stays there. You pull it up and hold it to where you want it to stop. Like as said the problem is in fine grading. Try to stop a wood splitter in the same place several times in a row.
You say the shipping is a deal breaker for you. I'm not positive but I think this is how that works. The dealer normally gets a large amount of inventory and then if they have to order other items they have to pay shipping on those items so they are passing the cost to the buyer. Instead of being completely honest, most dealers will say the item is a $250 upgrade which would be $150 upgrade and $100 for shipping. It seems like your dealer is being pretty honest with you which would be worth more than a $100 to me. A good honest dealer is worth their weight in gold.
Most people get the 54" bucket on the 7800 as I think the 60" bucket was a light duty bucket. I've bent my 54" bucket all ready so I wouldn't think the 60" bucket would hold up as well.
As far as moving the seat, you may want to be careful as that could possibly void your warranty. You may have to look at another brand of machine to be comfortable. I've heard New Hollands work better for tall people since their seats go up as the go back. Keep your options open.

It took well over a month to get my DSL hooked up after I placed the order. They sent me two modems thinking I didn't have one. They wanted to send someone out to my house so they could charge me to check my system out. I declined that as my brother does that sort of stuff and said the problem was on their end. He called the customer service line and got the standard flip card crap, so he asked them to put their cheat cheat cards away and get him someone who knew what they were talking about. He explained the problem and after several weeks they finally found the problem was a switch at the local company. I called and got a customer service manager and explained the problem to which she said they are very busy and I shouldn't expect miracles. When I threatened to cancel my service, she then asked if I would like her to get that started to which my reply was "I guess I can expect the service to be shut off by next year sometimes and hung up." After some research, I sent a letter to headquarters and got an apology as well as a reduction in my bill. I still need to see if they are offering cable internet in my area yet. I think it they are, I would cancel phone and DSL.

I work in Washington DC and the SUV craze is ridiculous. We are getting a dusting of snow as I write this now. The forecast is for 1 to 2 inches and listening to the radio, there have been so many wrecks all ready. You can have the best vehicle in the world, but if you have an idiot behind the wheel it doesn't do much good. The 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive get you going better but don't do a thing for slowing you down which most people in the city don't realize and when you get a bunch of people in a hurry to go stopping is a premium!!!!! I'm watching from the window as cars slide through the intersections.

A bunch of money spent on a wedding is crazy to say the least. When I got married my wife's parents didn't have any money to pay for our wedding so we did it ourselves. We had to spend our money very carefully and plan way ahead. At the reception, we did not have a band and everyone loved it, just being able to talk and see family and friends they had not seen in a while. I would have loved to have had a DJ though but the finances said no and I was not going in debt for it. My parents took care of the cake and gave us a nice little sum for a wedding gift which we used to pay on our land.
My cousin who is a doctor and has a ton of money (both his parents are deceased and had large life insurance policies) got married to a female (not really fit to be called a lady). She had to have everything fancy which her parents paid for. The reception was a set down dinner complete with an open bar and a live band. The rehearsal dinner was top of the line as well. They spent a fortune on the wedding. Her dress alone probably cost more than my entire wedding. 3 years later, a nasty divorce and basically her parents just paid for one heck of a party.
My little girl says when she gets married she wants to take a hayride with the Kubota pulling them along!!!!!

On my old 89 S-10 p/u, my key would pull out with it running. However my wife's key would not, but her's was a factory key and mine was a duplicate from Wal-Mart. I came to the conclusion that it was a combination of her heavy key chain swinging back and forth that helped loosen the switch up some as well as the cheaper metal from the duplicate key which allowed just enough for my key to come out. She no longer has a bunch of key chains hanging off her keys!!! She almost burnt the starter up on another vehicle when it couldn't kick the switch back to on, the key chain had gotten caught on something.
