I've got a long 2360 3 cyl that has starting popping when unloaded and at higher rpm, 1500 and above. I changed all filters, and installed new long calibrated injectors, at least they said they were calibrated. No trash in the fuel filters etc, plenty fuel from pump etc. Seems to be only one cyl. Although this machine only has 500 hrs in 24 years it starts like new, except for that high rpm popping. I'm thinking one of the injectors wasn't calibrated correctly at the factory. Any ideas on this problem?

I use a battery tender every two weeks on all my batteries, cars, truck, tractors and diesel mowers. All my batteries live outside in the weather year around. In the winter the tender is used every 10 days, for what ever number of hours are needed to get back to 100%. I do not change them until they fail. Normally I get 6 to 8 years on a premium battery. Now back to cleaning up hurricane damage in "Ray Stevens" "Shriner's Convention" Hahira, Ga.

The power steering reservoir is on the front left side, when facing from the seat, It is behind the side panel. On my 2360 I have to remove the side panel to get to it.

Nick, one other thing, if you have a harbor freight or something simular you can pick up a small kit of various sizes of O-rings. If my grey cells are remembering correctly, I think I paid about 4 bucks for several each of 15 different sizes.

Any decent hydraulics shop can overhaul the steering cylinder, I think back a year or so ago, my 2360 had to have new seals and a couple of o-rings and that was about it. Also, you won't get squealing from the wheel bearings unless they are rolling. I think,if I read your post correctly you only get the squeal when trying to turn the steering wheel. If that is when you hear the the noise, you might want to check the steering belt, belt pulleys and see if the pump pulley is turning freely. <br>

Also, make sure those zerk fittings are lubed good on the linkage. They are right in front of the engine, way down low in the middle area. If you blew the seals out of the hydraulic when trying to turn the wheel, it has to be the linkage and/or the pitman type arm under neath there in the middle down low where the zerk fittings are located.<br>

If your tractor has to sit out in the weather, like mine, that linkage will bind real quick if you don't keep it lubed good. <br>

These are good old tractors and the height of simplicity to maintain.<br>

Carolinablue, thanks for the manual link. After looking at the manual and the wheel assemblies I find mine does not have the power stance option. With the weight involved I think it is going to be a time consuming job, but I can do it.

I'll get to break in my new engine hoist and air gun.

CORRECTION: I set the injectors at 3300 psi, range is 3250 to 3350. I work on tractors better than I type.:-)

my 2360 tranny is a little noisy and it only has 447 hours on it. I recently changed the hydraulic filter and oil thinking that may be the problem. It was still noisy after the change.

I found part of my noise problem was the pto engage / disengage lever was in the disengage position. I've read that can cause some major problems.

The second thing I found causing noise under the seat was the axle lock pedal was not releasing completely. I pulled it all the way up to the release by hand. I've got is washed down with pb-blaster, liquid wrench or wd-40 will work too. Then I lubed it with a spray white grease.

Those three things helped my noise but did not completely eliminate it. I suspect the spyder gears back under there get a wear pattern when the parts aren't releasing properly and that may be causing the noise.

If I find anything else causing the noise I'll post it... please do the same if you find something.

Also if your 3 pt lift is jumpy it may need a new hydraulic filter or your engine may be idling to low. I find mine gets jumpy when it engine idles to low or that filter starts getting clogged.

My 2360 got jumpy when lifting and evening when not lifting but with the engine idling. The oil looked good, and I didn't find any leaks. A friend told me it might be the hydraulic filter clogging up. I changed that filter and the hesitation and jumpy lift went away.<br>

If you have water in the system it will usually look milky or kind of like a butter scotch color.<br>

lespaulsf, I've got the same problem with my 2360. I believe it is seepage around the two stems. My main problem is the gasket on that thin metal cap is failing, at just 440 hrs on a 1996 model. I plan next week to unhook the linkage and remove the two holding fasteners and make a new gasket. I think the leak around the stems may be from deteriorated "O" rings. I will let you know as soon as I remove that cap. If it is "O" rings it may be a simple fix but you will need to get or make a gasket. You can get the "O" rings at harbor freight or any hydraulics repair shop for must less than replacing or rebuilding a pump.

I'll let you know. Like you I have to save up for the big expenses like a pump or mother will have my hide. //Ken

46bugs does your long have the D124 engine? Mine is a 1996 2360 with that engine and they said it was 46 hp. I know it will pull and doesn't use much fuel. Ken

Another tractor enthusist gave me a copy of the electrical diagram.

With the diagram I found the fuse holder was not holding the fuses tightly. Adjusted the holder bracket, tested and everything is working just like when new. Using the diagram I guess I looked a little more closely and found the problem.
