I just had a very similar problem with my 4210 ehydro, it was bogging down. I replaced both hydraulic filters, fuel filter, even rockshaft filter. Problem was right brake was sticking at rear of tractor. I pulled the brake rod off the arm at the rear wheel to fix the "problem". Now I need to know how to unfreeze the brake rod shaft where it goes into the tranny. Any ideas ????

I used a manual diverter valve on the bucket curl control for my ATI grapple, and it was a real PITA!!! I installed a Fasse valve set up, and boy is it sweet. It makes working the bucket and grapple much easier, as you when you switch between the two you can almost get both functions working together, bucket curl and grapple closing. Not at the same time of course. I really like the Fasse cause it has both a momentary button and a rocker switch. The kits are pricey, but IMHO worth it if you're planning on doing a lot of grapple work.

That sounds exactly like what I'll be trying to do this spring. When you posted "shims" I thought you were referring to the JD shim kit that is welded to the front horizontal arms where the adjustment bolts are, sorry. It took me a lot of research to find what the shim kit was that everyone was referring me to.

I had the bailer belt on the top of my old blade for many years, works like a champ. When I got rid of the old blade and got a new Land Pride, put the belt on it too, makes a big difference in moving snow around.

It isnt powerful, but in the small cab, it does help. I have it screwed into the middle of the rh A pillar, so that I can tilt it onto the w/s to help defrost, or towards me. If you live in a really cold area (like upstate NY, Vermont, etc), then a high BTU may be better. Here in Va, I really dont need one that high. Just a thought for you.

Forgot to add, if you can, find an auction on a tractor that's close by, so you can stop by and inspect it. Most sellers welcome inspections, just email them and ask.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but my 4210 (bought used about 2 mths ago) has a Travellers 22NF battery (390CCA I believe). It has the holddown lugs on the bottom, and has apparently worked well for some time now.

I forgot to add, if you want one, you better order it ASAP, takes about 2 weeks for their build cycle to get one built. I had mine ordered over 2 mths ago, but just got it this past friday, as they had lost the order, till I kept bugging the dealer and Curtis for status updates.

Brain, Thanks for the info. I called last week, Matt is out for the next 4 weeks due to a back injury. Talked to his backup, he didnt have a clue what I was looking for, but would email the info when he found out. Havent received anything yet. Since found online on parts catalog, the shim kit is actually for the front of the mast supports, where the support that latches to the front of the tractor bolts up.

I made my own shims, as a temp measure till this spring. They really tighten up the mast. When I pull the FEL to start mowing, I'll pull the mast apart and the square tube support, and take them both to my welder to build up the metal on the mast so it fits the tube snug.

Thanks for the input guys. Murf, I like your setup, if I can pick a truck blde up relatively good price, I may go that route. In the mean time, I've sent emails to Kasco and Borgford req info.

If you do a search on ebay, there's someone the mfgr them, they're yellow, looks pretty solid. I believe they can make them to your bucket width.

Thanks 2ndHandLion!!! The diagram you posted was perfect. Last night I pulled the fender, and adjusted the lever so it stays put. This little tidbit was worth the price of admission here. :~) Thanks again.

I've recently moved several brush piles around to the burn pile, using forks I made and an ATI bucket grapple. The forks were 2 3' pieces of 2"x4"x3/16" steel bolted to the inside of the bucket with 2 x 2/8" bolts each. I welded a piece of 2"x2" square tubing in the end to make a point. This combo worked great, and I was able to grab several large felled trees with no problems.

I had one on my old 1700. It was a PITA to take off/on, but can be done in about an hour. I nudged the edge of the bucket against a strudy tree that I had a strong rope with a loop tied around it about 8' up. I put the hooks of a chain into the top edge of the loader arm, then hooked a comealong to the chain and the loop around the tree. Unbolted everything, hoisted the loader up off it's bases, backed the tractor clear, then lowered the loader arms onto cinder blocks. Not exactly QD, but it works.
