Know of a one year old 5400 with cab AC/Heat with 540 loader and standard bucket, telescoping draft link, 8' woods mower and 8' box blade with hydraulic angle. This machine has 147 hours all mowing around the farm. This machine is CHERRY! Tractor being sold due to death of owner. This machine is 4wd with bar tires and has a pto hp of 60. The tractor is in central Illinois and is currently not being advertised except word of mouth. Approximately 36,000.00 will buy it. Those interested please respond.

Depending on dealer, buying from the local makes a world of difference. Picture it, Saturday morning, flat tire, Sunday family bar-b-cue, 5 acres(two weeks unmowed) how much is your 3,000 lb machine worth? Price DOES make a difference but does the dealer know your name? Will they make time? For warranties on machines we sell we drop everything(almost always) and work to get you on the road. Just saying that a good relationship on a 20,000 dollar machine is more important than the 8 hours and $100 spent on gas to pit one dealer against the other. Have faith that your average dealer barely makes a $1,000 against a $15,000 sale. After 5 years my FIRST bid is LOW bid, if you ask for bottom dollar, and act like you'll take it, tell the dealer you've looked around I promise you WILL get what you want. We feed our families on what we sell do I want to lose the sale on the one chance I get? In today's market, one chance is all we get. Do your homework, what you know will protect you. Collect literature,compare all apples to apples(this is important) and be prepared to buy. Decide on the money you can spend, divide it by 30 years, THEN select model, test drive(very important), don't ask for $20,000 machine if you can only afford $15,000. Mark, <br>Here some information that may help you....<br>Deere dealers don't sell them new anymore so here is old retail figures, about 15,500 for tractor and 3300.00 for loader with dual selective control valve. Backhoe should be worth around 5,000 and 72

Use some good penetrating oil ( like aerokroil ) and keep soaking them for a few days. Heat will also help, but not red hot, you could crack the block. A nut buster is also helpful if the nuts are extremely stubborn. When all else fails, cuss like hell, throw your tools around, kick the Kubota, and swear that you'll never buy orange again<br>

Bob, I have almost exactly the same situation as you minus the 12% grades. I have used my neighbors B8200 4WD w/ ag tires for snow removal. It isn't bad, but I have gotten it stuck in 12

John, I looked at a very nice 755 in western IN last week. It was 4WD with Model 70 loader and 440HRS. Only the foot rest paint was worn. Asking price was 11,500. Hope this helps

Was at the NH dealer today here in Indy and was told the same thing by the sales manager. They are going to be selling a lot of big stuff. He also said NH stock will be going up. He got that info from the national sales mgr.

Bruce, I for one am tired of projects, ie; buy cheap, spend lots of hours fixing up the piece of machinery, and then finally getting around to what I wanted to use it for in the first place. Maybe my 47 years are catching up to me, but I'd rather get the job done than mess with trying to get to the job in the first place. Sounds like you have a wonderful piece of property and you will be doing a lot of maintenance. I think you would be better served buying late model used or new, and getting on with the task at hand. You are right about one thing, if you get a fine machine you won't want to let it go, and with 44 acres, I don't see how you would survive without it. By the way, I'm always looking for new places to hunt deer, any monster bucks tearing up your woodlot?

MLS, I can't comment on much but the price you were quoted for the 4100. I just got a quote yesterday from the jd dealer here in Fishers, IN for a 4200 HST w/420 loader, mid mower and turf tires. He said it listed for 23,330 and would sell it for 21K. I don't know how much less a conventional tranny is, but I do think that the 4100 should be about a grand less for the basic tractor. Seems like 16 is a fair price. Do people still do business with a hand shake? I think I better move east.

Yanmar produces compact tractors for John Deere. These tractors are modified to meet John Deere specifications, and the requirements of the American market.<br>Yanmar also sells tractors under their own name in Japan and other countries.<br>There are some Yanmar tractors that share most (but not all) parts with an American tractor.<br>There are also Yanmar tractors that are completely different than any John Deere.<br>The reason you mainly see small Yanmar tractors is due to the shipping cost.<br>The smaller tractors are more econimical to ship to the U.S. and therefore more abundant.<br>Yanmar makes tractors over 100 Hp. I will be posting new information on the Yanmar F series of tractors within the next week or two.<br>I will also post the same information for the other grey market brands.<br>The F series of Yanmars is the replacement to the YM series.<br>These are very nice tractors. Greg,<br>The Japanese tractors have never been tested for sale in the US, so there is no reliable way to tell what the proper H.P. would be.<br>Yanmar Japan calls this a 14 H.P. tractor. The rating system is not the same as ours, however from looking at the American Yanmars, John Deere tractors with the same engines, and from using these tractors, it is fairly safe to say the Japanese H.P. rating is very conservative.<br>I have a dyno in the shop, and I am planning to place some of my Yanmar tractors on it to get an accurate PTO H.P. reading.<br>If there is any interest in these test, I will publish these numbers when I get them.<br>You may be interested in joining the Yanmar tractor owners group at the link below.<br>Jay
