Sorry about your fuel gauge problem, hopefully the dealer got it fixed. I bought a 3120 about a year ago and it has been a good tractor so far.

I recently purchased a 3120 with similar equiqment for not much less, 300cx FEL and RFM. I've got the mid PTO and cruise control and rear hydralics plus larger tires as add ons. I could have gotten a larger 20 series tractor which wasn't from the local JD dealer but was located near Waco for about the same price, but it had about 90 hours on it and looked to have been used for pulling stumps and would have required renting a trailer and towing it home. So considering the cost I decided to order one and ended up going with the local dealer. You might do better buying something in stock. I'd be interested in knowing if the cruise control is included on all 20 series tractors as a standard feature. I haven't seen any other 20 series tractors at our local dealer.

Thanks for the great advice. I thought about it last time I was mowing and figured the back end of the RFM looked a lot like the front of those nifty zero turn mowing gizmos. But the point is well taken about being careful so as to not have the tractor crunch the RFM mower deck and bend the PTO shaft.

I've seen people get into interesting arguments about what is better. I always liked the green tractors, mainly for looks, to be honest before I ever knew anything about them. You might look at the posts about mechanical problems. It is probably a taste and ease of use issue. I'd go and drive both of what you narrow your choice down to. As a new tractor owner as I learn how to use the one I bought I have been impressed with it but don't have anything else to comapre it to.

My idea, and I certainly don't have the experience of some of the other folks who gave given me good tips, is pretty much to always wear the seatbelt except when mowing slowly along fences, etc. so I can twist around and not let the rear finishing mower hit the fence pole.

This past weekend I broke the left rear rops light on my JD tractor going around an oak tree, same kind of thing--trying to go too fast and not paying attention. Guess the dealer won't mind supplying another. I'm glad now that they're made of a cheap (or maybe not so cheap) plastic housing. Luckily I haven't hit anything in my garage yet. But I'm just coming up on 50 hours . . .

Congrats on your purchase, I purchased a 3120 last fall. For what it's worth, mine only came with loadmatch, a feature I leave on all the time. I'm sure you will like your 3320. I've been real satisfied with mine.

I bought a 3120 for less than 25K with a 300 CX loader and a 261 finishing mower. I've been really happy with the tractor. It's 29.5 horsepower. I added options like rear hydralics and a mid-pto not that I'll ever use it probably. I ordered the bigger tires too which I think might come standard on the models that have more horsepower in the 20 series tractors. I saw at the dealer yesterday that the JD folks seem to be selling a 03 series in the same line / size range that is more utilitarian w/o rubber flooring like the 10 series and 20 series, more like a blend of the 790 and 990 and 20 and 10 series. I just picked up a 5 foot rear blade to complement the loader so I'll see how it works.

I don't feel so bad now. I don't know if it helped, but I hit the face of the male end on the post where the masts go, it has a little tit on it that retracts into the male end of the coupler and a little bit of hydraulic fluid spurted out all over me and my glasses. Maybe this was enough relief to get it seated into the female / tractor end. I didn't let much out. It was the first time the FEL was off of the tractor. Anyway, since I got it back together I'll muster up some courage and take it apart again sometime. I figure dropping the 3-point finishing mower can't be too hard after taking off the FEL.
