I just bought a KK 72" RFM, and a 60" KK tiller at TSC this pass Sunday. I can't think of a reason should pay $1700 for a brush hog RFM. unless you need that paint job. My neighbor has used one for 4 seasons with no problems and his teenage boy drags that cutter around that 7 acres like speedracer. Knowing my neighor for a few years now, my guess is that thing has seen minimal mantenence. I have had a KK rotary to cut with for 1 year now and it did great clearing and maintaining the my rough area , the rear half of my place and OK on the lawn, but not even close to the cub cadet which we use in front of the house and to trim with. Actually I went to get a tiller when I left the house last Sunday morning but that RFM just kind of jumped into my trailer.

$10 a month, $120 a year, isn't that bad at all, but my tractor is covered under the personal property with my home owners insurance (estate policy), This sounds great if your tractor is covered for comercial use. The question I would be asking would be is the tractor covered under this policy for the designated term of the loan? Example 48 month loan includes a cost of $10 a month for replacement value insurance, or you are required to purchase an insurance policy for replacement value that covers your tractor for the original financed length of time. If I pay that contract off in 24 months is my tractor still covered for the original 48 month term? since I paid 48 months worth of premiums per the contract? As the insurance company is paid up front and you are just borrowing that money from the lender to pay that policy thereby raising your payment $10 per month. Or is this policy to protect the lender? yes it is. and chances are they will not lend you the money if you do not agree to purchase this policy for the lender.

I overnighted them a certified check and finaced 60% of it through NH credit 0%, 36 months on a Tuesday. The tractor left Corriher on that following Friday, Steve called, then the driver called me, He had a stops in WI, and IN, before me. He then called me at work Tuesday morning when he was a couple hours away and I shot home. So 1 week from commitment to delivery.

I gave serious consideration to a mahindra 2810, before I bought my TC-30. I have a dealer 15 miles away and the machine appeared very solid compared to new holland and kubota but I'm new to compact tractors and honestly peer pressure from my farmer buddies drove me to buy a "big three" machine. That was the only dealer to actually let me work the loader in my test drive. Now I've owed my TC-30 for 7 months and it is everything expected and more, but the final desision was between the TC-30 and the mahindra 2810

You will find the owners of each will thing they are great, and really they are. I have had a Tc-30 for 6 months and I'm very happy with it. If you are going to box blade, get it with a top and tilt system (dual rear hydrulic remotes) I added after and big $$$, good luck, enjoy your quest

valid points murf, In the area I live in 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, mini-bikes,go-carts and the latest craze golf carts are used as basic transpartation, mostly by children between 11 and 17 years old. As the closest homes are 400ft apart and the nearest paved road is 5 miles away, there are a few established trails and all the kids know to stay out of the fields with crops so the kids ride the road edge back and forth to their friends homes. Now 3-wheeler were originally marketed as some kind of dirt,trail bike. Built to perform on un-improve land at a rate of speed to induce a thrill, just as a very large segment of 4-wheelers are today. Their demise came when the public opinion believed they were more dangerous than a dirt bike,thus the 4-wheeler was born. Also certainly the 13 year old driving that 3-wheeler took that turn to fast for that machine and the higher center of gravity with two riders was a factor but she was not moving at 20 plus mph more like 12 or 15 mph and probably braked late. The fact that one of our TRX-300s made that same turn just before was startling, but that 3-wheeler will dust any of my 4-wheelers in a flat out drag race. That much power and that unstable?? anyway I'd read this forum when I first signed up and when it became active again and then the tumble in my drive ,anyway thats my .02 worth.
also the best time I ever had riding 4-wheelers by far was in the foothills surounding Kingman AZ. (sister lives there) and my brother-in-law took me on this ATV day trip sponsered by the local ATV club great rocky climb atleast 20 machines in our group and no 3-wheelers all

the tractor does the roughest finish mowing with a 60" 3ph mower<br>
300ft by 1165ft (7.5 acres), 300ft by 450ft nice lawn<br>
we use a cub cadet 1925 and a 60" swisher finish mower pulled by a atv for the front and the atv does the ditches.<br>
the TC-30 does the back 700ft.<br>
Yeah I'm happy with it, with my son on the cub, my daughter and the atv, and me on the tractor we can kick this out in just over 3 hours including weedwacking <br>
but that 60" swisher finish mower is not durable, next is a comercial ZTR

The only thing most will agree on including myself is a 12 or 10 gauge. the handgun debate is enjoyable and I hope it continues for some time , great post. The truth is there are few hand guns that will not perform home defense only people that cannot. I believe that glock 21 45cal is your best choice "it kind of like an old pair of sneakers that you have wore and wore so many times" Just make sure it is in perfect shape, and truly learn how to defend with it. and it will not fail you. Now that shotgun, I think the 870's have a camamdo style 22" or 20" barrel and a 6 shell tube, 7 total, flat back plastic stock, run both buckshot and slugs in it, then stash a small game vest full of shells close and you should be just fine. also your wife need to learn to use that shotgun without hesitation and in close quarters. I use a winchester 1300 in a similar role with the vest stashed. If you want another handgun go get one, a rifle has limited value for in home defense,but my barn with my tractor in it is 150ft behind my home so a bolt action 30-06 with night vision does the tractor defending(just kidding). have fun gun shopping!!

Honda and Kawasaki are #1 and #1a, Kohler's are next at #2,Used to be #1 by far but, lost it . Briggs and Stratton and Tecumseh are a distant third. Look at the small engines in top of the line industial pumps, generators and for that matter lawn care equipment. that Kohler should treat you very well, if you treat it well. I had a 17hp kohler in a 1971 Bolens garden tractor that my dad bought new. We junked that thing in 1988, because of the transmission not the engine, and it was never rebuilt. good luck with your little deere.

Me either, no I bought last week from OK tractors, corriher impliment co. in Newton NC. In fact it left their dock just this morning on its way to my home in Monroe MI.<br>

No dealer in SE michigan or NW ohio could get under $16000, go figure? and I gave them lots of chances, I have wanted a compact since 1998 when we bought land and built a home, in fact I had a deal done on a 1720 with the same loader before the house was done but my wife and dad were freaking out about me spending that kind of money " on a lawn mower" so I played the garden tractor game. I should have bought then and did some of the fill, grade and plant work myself instead of hiring it out. then I might be able to afford a $5000 tree spade. <br>
I now have friends with kabuta's, deere's and new holland's full size and compacts and they are all good machines It is just how much power ,how many bells and whistles you want, and keep working the best deal. this one will not finish mow It will rough mow 4ac. till, light loader work, post holes, and hopefully move trees. we have 7.5ac and two horses, I want to build another pole barn,this one myself for myself. and a small greenhouse. <br>
In spring of 1999 we bought and planted 350 trees planted them all together to make it easier to take care of them, as advised. I have moved and/or killed about 50 of them by hand. So this tractor will solve my tree problem one way or another, remember that rough mower and tiller I talked about. Anyway good luck with your tractor puchase.

valid points on weight and hydraulics, but these things shown on skidsteers all over the place and I don't see them weighing more that a compact with loaded tires, and skidsteers hydraulic systems are that much stronger? I found a couple makers of 24" hydraulic tree spades with 3ph hookups but we are still looking at $5000 plus, and one sites spec. sheet stated for 45hp and above tractors, which appears to be a very general spec. Since I will not spend 5 grand and my tractor is to light I'm back to the $2200, 24" tree toad which only uses tractor hydraulics to lift and carry ,and set,the tree, more research required, hey Willie H, I will buy it, move my trees and, then sell it to you <br>
