Hi,<br>
I just picked up a rc60-21b mower deck for my Kubota B2150, but it came without any of the "tractor side" linkages and brackets. Does anybody know where I might find these parts used? or if the brackets were the same on an other Kubota model (ie: b1550 , b1750. etc) that I might find used.<br>

Dave,
Its best to ask at the station if they have changed over to winter blend yet.Here in southern NH I have found that they mostly changed by Nov 15th. BTW an additive like powerservice or others makes a big difference in the winter.

fahrwood,
If you haven't already, try tightening your toplink all the way and recheck the 3 point travel, then with the blade on the ground check to see if the loader functions properly. On many 50 series kubota's, when you set the 3pt to full up it sets off a bypass that prevents the loader from working.
If this doesn't help and you have fluid and clean filters, you probably need a bypass valve adjustment

Thanks for the reply. The manual only says placing the vanes in hole #1 increases distribution to the left, placing in #4 increases to right, experiment with your material for best results. Checked the landpride manual and it says almost exactly the same thing. I guess I'll have to experiment...

Its amazing how different pricing can be in different regions... I just recently looked at b2150 with fewer hours, but the same equipment for $13500 here in New England.

BTW.. the 2150 actually would sit between a b2410 and b2710 in the kubota line-up. Its a 4 cylinder, 24hp machine, slightly smaller than the b2710 but bigger than a b2410. it includes cruise and position control. Also if you buy it and don't want the mower, let me know...

I have a b2150hst and though I may be somewhat biased, think it's one of the greatest machines kubota ever built. It's powerfull, wide, short, and has a very low center of gravity. parts are readily available, though other than filters and fluids I haven't needed any. This weekend I saw a 1992 2150 with about 250 hrs, mower and loader for $13500, so I would say 10 is a great price.

Bosch makes a powersaw the - FineCut 1640VS that includes a blade fo blind cuts such as on your baseboard. it will leave about 1/8" of base board that you will have to chisel out

Hey Murf sorry to prolong this thread but I don't get the point. I understand and agree with the concept of contact area and traction being related....but if you had two identical machines with identical tire sets and on one machine the tires were loaded, on the other they were not loaded wouldn't the machine with loaded tires (the heavier machine) provide better traction?

chuckles, the reason I love my 2150 is that it's wheelbase is one inch shorter than the 7500 (yes 7500), wider, with a lower center of gravity, but is still 24hp. this makes it very stable, manuverable, and powerful. My mower is not optimum, its an old 48" woods but works ok. I still have a 48" exmark with mulching kit to clean up leaves or if I need some exercise.

While the 7500 may not quite pull two bx's, it will take two bx's to pull the 7500. Thats not a knock on the bx, but only that they are really two quite different machines. the bx will get into smaller spaces, but the 7500 with its larger engine,tires, and gearing will outpull the bx.
As for your orginal question about traction in ice and snow the 7500 with filled turfs will provide much better traction, just due to the weight of the larger filled tire. The increased ground clearence will provide the ability to drive thru deeper snow without hanging up.

Sorry, but I should have been more clear. My exmark came with the muching kit (blades, Baffels, and chute block plate) not just the blades. It does cleanup yard areas with very thick coverings of leaves (no grass showing). if the mulch left on the lawn is to thick I just run over it another time.

I'm guessing your refering to my comment. The issue is that there is no easy way for a buyer to compare tractors based upon HP rating because there is no standard means for expressing HP. ie: would anyone believe a 24HP Sears lawn tractor as powerfull as a 24HP Kubota? The Mfg's have the ability to publish a HP rating based upon any rpm they desire, regardless of the fact that it may be on the down side of the torque curve. An example of this is a comparison of a kubota BX2200 and B7500. Because the published HP on the BX2200 is 22HP and that of the b7500 is 21HP many people actually believe the bx is the more powerful of the two tractors. If you examine the engine specs of the two machines you quickly find that the B7500 is a far more powerfull machine. Given that the technology of most of todays diesel engines is so similar, when comparing machines it really easiest to look at displacement to see which has the larger and "most likely" most powerfull engine. after potential choices have been made then you can compare the power curves of the engine to make a final selection.

The 1750 will be better for snow, the bx has a better mowing deck, but the 1750's larger tires (if turf tires) offer a softer footprint. If you intend to keep the mower on the machine, check to see that there is enough ground clearence on the 1750 when the mower is retracted. for your other uses the 1750 will give you more power to the ground but the bx will be more manuverable due to its smaller size.

I would agree with your dealer, the bx is a great machine, but for the property size you are dealing with and the tasks you have in mind the b7500 may still be small. The bx is much less powerfull than the 7500. When you compare engines you really need to look at displacement not HP. HP is meaningless as a method of measuring work. Additionally, tire size is very important. You must have a effective means to transfer the HP to the ground. The bigger the tire the better (also important as you will want to fill your tires to balence the fel). Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Ok, I think I'm starting to understand. Yes, you could plow your driveway with a combination of a 5' rear blade and front loader. My only concern would be the traction the small tires would provide in a deep snowfall. This could be overcome by taking a smaller bite or adding chains.
The issue is that adding the loader to the bx now rather than with purchase of the machine will probably mean you pay full list price plus installation. This extra cost will probably be about the same as what you would lose selling your bx on the used market. So if the money is not an issue and you can get a reasonable price for your bx I would go for more power and larger tires and look at a b7500 or b2410 sized machine (though I am partial to Kubota I would look at other mfg in this size range as well). This would give you the ability to use a 6' back blade and a larger loader to more quickly clean your driveway. Machines larger than the 2410 could cause problem mowing your size lot.

Hi Guys,
My questions were never intended to compare high vs low reving engines.
All I was trying to understand was why Kubota and Deere are using the exact same engine in their subcompacts as in the compacts, reving it up and rating it for higher HP than when used in the compact. I don't think there can be any doubt that if you take two engines that are exactly the same, run one for 3000 hours at 3200 rpm, run the other for 3000 hours at 2600 rpm, the engine that ran at 2600 will have had fewer problems and be in better shape at the end of the 3000 hours than the other. Based on this asumption it didn't make sense to me that the manufactures would do it without design or marketing reason and I couldn't come up with any design reasons. Art's point about higher rpms being necessary to obtain reasonable ground speed with the smaller tires seems to be a valid reason the manufactures would make this sacrifice in longevity.

Yes, the bx2200 is 22 hp and this is really one of my pet peeves about kubota marketing. Go to the following kubota web site

and look up the D905 engine used in the BX2200 and the D1005 used in the b7500. Compare the specs and powercurve and you will see that the b7500 is really much more powerful. What Kubota has done is rate the bx at a higher rpm which allows them to advertise a higher HP. Its interesting to me that when the b1700 was being sold it used the same engine but was only promoted as being a 17 HP machine. Even today the b7400 and bx1800 use the same engine but in the bx its called 18hp and in the b7400 its called 16hp.
Anyway enough of my rant as they are really both very good machines.

Good luck finding a reasonable price on a kubota in your area. When I was looking you had to go up into Maine or Vermont to find a reasonable price. The best prices I found in Mass or NH were up in Plymouth NH. Recently I heard of someone that had worked a reasonable deal on a BX in Milford, NH. so maybe with the increased competition you will have better luck than I did. Let us know how you make out.
