Apples and oranges, but I just bought a TC35 with 66" Wood FEL and 60" Woods Brush Bull. I think NH FEL's and mowers are overpriced, and my dealer admits it. The tractors are priced fairly. My guess is that NH makes big money on implements. Hope this is in time for you to think about.

Congrats Gary! I wish my wife would let me spend that much money. <grin> I know how you feel this morning. When my TC29 was delivered, it was great. I was in tractor Heaven for a month or 2. I have a TC35 being delevered in a day or 2, and I hope I don't jump up and down like an 8 year old getting a Nintendo. At least not until the driver leaves.

Question is, will it kill those large tubers? I think it may, but would have to be used very concentrated and very often. I think the wild sheep and goat solution is sounding cheaper. :-)

Oliver, I would like to steer you away from the MMM. They nearly make a dedicated mower out of your tractor. I saw a very cool multi-bladed pull-behind mower somewhere. Finish mows great, takes very little HP, and was inexpensive. Only extends 2-3 feet behind the hitch, and looked to be 5 feet wide. I have the same situation as you, and had a 29 HP blue. Enough for all my needs, but could be slow. Traded up on a 35 HP blue. Hope it's as great as my little 29 HP pit bull. Good luck,

I have gears on my TC29, and gears on my new TC35 coming next week. Besides the initial cost, HST is a little fincky and very expensive to replace. They are great for FEL work, but have no advantage for mowing or plowing. In fact, they cost you HP you always need for mowing. Good luck.

$Mark, with 4 wheel steering, the wheels would only need to turn a fraction of what they turn on 2 wheel steering. But you're right the big tires would get in the way of the FEL. See, that's why I asked you guys!$ Mowing makes me think too much

Peters, That must be cool. Wish we had a smithy here! Shame on the mowing machine manufacturers for continuing to use 1930's technology. There's no excuse for having to sharpen blades every time I mow my field. Wonder if there would be a good aftermarket for better blades?

Geez! Never thought of that! I use a power washer on my engine about once a month. If I didn't, the engine would be extremely hard to inspect and do maintenance on. Heck, it would be extremely hard to FIND!

I guess I'm spoiled. My NH dealer is great. Will pick up my tractor for $1 per mile, free hauling if warranty work is needed. Will send mechanic to the field for minor maintenance and repairs. NH called me 3 times to ask me how the new tractor was. I told them the gears tended to grind, so they called the dealer and he came out. Just "New and stiff", which turned out to be correct. The dealer called me 2 or 3 times just to ask me if everything was OK. Called me last winter for a super sale. Got a nice little plow for a song. Free donuts. Free delivery. If your dealer stiffs you, you can take comfort that NH is SERIOUS about customer satisfaction. My overall buying and ownership experience is A++.

Hi Mark and KWS. I live in Louisiana. Sometimes I work on wet ground, but not deep mud. I plow ditches and a small garden, and whatever the neighbors can dream up. Lots of dusty FEL and mowing work. Yea, the TC35 will be in Friday and I should get a ride by Tuesday. I'm calling my guy to call off the fluid. I think they are hard on the clutch anyway. If the bigger tires and wheelbase still pound me, I'll let off some air. Kind thanks for all the info!

For what it's worth, my dealer says he sells SS mostly to greens keepers. I can tell you the Boomers with standard steering turn very tightly, and I can not imagine a situation where I would need to turn any tighter than I already can. Good luck with your decision!

I just happen to have one for sale. 500 hours, taken excellent care of. Nice Woods FEL and 5' Woods Brush Bull goes with it. Gears. What should I ask for it? :-)

Congrats Steve! My TC35 is due next week. It will have a Woods 1016 66" FEL and a Woods 6' Brush Bull with clutch. (I hate shear pins!) Feels like Christmas to me too, but unfortunately it will be my only Christmas for the next 3 years. :-(

A little off topic, but unless you need to mow in tight places, Super Steer is unnecessary, and a possible source of problems. The standard Boomers turn very tight, and I can't imagine needing to turn any tighter than the standard steering. A TC33 or even a TC29 will pull a humongous boat, and even a cheap FEL is more than enough for moving 1000# stuff around.

Good luck with your decision. I'm sure you will be happy regardless of your choice. Boomers are very neat packages.
