I use a King Kutter 60" rotary cutter mainly for mowing pasture grasses (leaves a nice manicured finish). I have 30+ hours on the mower and it has performed flawlessly.

In my part of the country we have many lakes, reservoirs, and rivers. We use welded aluminum jet boats in order to power up the big rivers and also to navigate the shallow areas. The Parts and Operators manuals are available on-line at the New Holland website. The Service/Repair manuals I have only been able to locate (and purchase) at the NH Dealer. The prices are not out of line with any other type of Service manual. The information contained in these manuals is not cheap nor is it overly expensive. If you are serious about knowing and maintaining your tractor then you should purchase the proper manuals (sometimes, by having the manual, you will know what you can repair yourself and when it is best to seek professional advice/repair). The money you save in the long run will more than cover the cost of the manuals.

New Holland TC30 (9x3 gear trans)/7308 loader/r4 tires.

I now have 35 hours on machine (in eight weeks) and it has performed flawlessly.

I am not sure if it is the Dealer that is excellent or rather the salesman (I guess the Dealer should get credit for hiring an excellent salesman). The Dealer did not have the cutting edge for my loader in stock at time of purchase but delivered it to me within two weeks at no cost to me as promissed. The salesman also gave me(free of charge) a real nice tool box made of heavy gauge metal to attach to the tractor at a location of my choice (all I did was mention that it would be nice if the TC30 had a place for tool and accy. storage like my old JD50).

I would buy this exact setup again.

I probably would have been satisfied had I purchased a tractor from any of the major manufacturers but I know that I could not have been any happier than I am now. A great tractor at a great price, flawless performance, abundant power, and very pleasant people at the New Holland Dealership.

I am not familiar with a Rezloh cutting edge but I do have a New Holland cutting edge on my 7308 loader with a 60" Heavy Duty bucket. I can tell you it works beautifully. The HD bucket comes with a reinforced edge with seven holes already in place. The cutting edge bolts on with seven 1/2"x1 3/4"Plow bolts. I never take mine off (it is not in the way - and I would rather replace a worn-out blade than the bucket). The cutting edge is available from your New Holland Dealer. It comes in a kit:"Bolt On Reversible Blade Kit" that includes the blade,bolts and nuts. Note: the blade is reversible so that when and if you wear out one side you can turn it around and use the other side. Part #716426001 for the 60" model. Part #716427001 for the 68" model. There is a 72" model available but I don't have the part #. I believe the cost is $160-$180 (the Dealer included mine with the purchase of the TC30/7308). You should be able to adapt this blade to fit any comparable width bucket. It is very well made (nice machining).

Just a few notes from some New Holland publications. In the NH Boomer sales brochure it lists TC 29D gross HP=29.0 pto HP (hydro)=23.6. TC 33D gross HP=33.0 PTO HP(hydro)=26.9. Engine displacement for the TC29D=81.2, for the TC33D=91.3. In the NH TC30 sales brochure:gross HP =30 PTO HP(hydro)=24, engine displacement=91.3. However, in the New Holland TC30 Service Repair Manual#87021726 under engine specifications: Gross HP=33.0, PTO HP(hydro)=26.9, PTO HP(gear)=29.1,engine displacement=91.3. Engine model #N843.
I believe that the TC33D and the TC30 use the same engine. I have had my TC30 w/7308/R4's for about six weeks now and have put 30 hours on it and absolutely love it. It's fantastic. On the N.H.TC-30, the "Registration of hours and portions of hours your tractor has operated, will be based on an average engine speed of 1867 RPM. Engine speeds below 1867 RPM accumulate hours at a slower rate than clock hours. Engine speeds above 1867 RPM accumulate hours at a faster rate than clock hours." Per the TC30 Operators Manual.

I paid 11,850 for TC-30 with R4 tires (loaded). For the 7308 loader I paid 3,000. I was quoted $1,000 more for the hydrostat model(I did not want that option). The price looks good but I don't know the price on the mower. I can assure you that you will be quite pleased with this tractor. It is an amazing machine. Once you're on this tractor you wont want to get off. The other night I ran out of daylight and still had three acres left to mow so I turned on the headlamps and continued on(the stock headlamps worked quite well).

Thanks you all for the replies. We are going to incorporate AC5ZO's idea of using a temporary dam to make construction easier-we are going to use sandbags to make the dam around the construction and then use a pump to pump out any water that does get in. We will do the project in phases starting at the top and hopefully will complete in early November(the water is normally at it's lowest point of the year then).

I have now had my TC-30 for three weeks. The hour meter now reads 24.3 and it has consumed 10 gals. of fuel. I have spent 18.5 hours mowing and brushhogging with a 60" King Kutter Rotary Cutter and the rest of the time using the rear blade and doing loader work. The machine and all implements have worked flawlessly. Thanks again to everyone on this board for all of the imput on the various machines and implements. With the numerous tractor and implement brands, sizes, etc. it was very difficult making a decision on what to purchase. Using this forum as an additional reference source helped me to buy a machine that fits my needs perfectly.

The specs. in the 7308 Operators Manual are very slightly different for different tractor models(it does reference all models that this loader fits) however all specs are based on 1800 PSI/2600 RPM. In the TC-30 Operators Manual in the spec. section for the Hydraulic Lift System it states that the "System Relief Valve Setting" is 2133 PSI (does not give any plus or minus figures).

John, my TC30 seems to have more than enough power for my needs. Keep in mind that mine is the 9x3 trans (with the hydro trans option you will lose some PTO HP). So far I have put 10 hours on the tractor. I am heading out now for another full days work in the pasture. I absolutely love this tractor. I will post a message tonight with some initial impressions of the TC30 after todays work. By the way, I love this 9x3 trans-the shift lever is on the dash and 2nd and reverse are in direct line so that you don't even have to look when shifting between forward and reverse.You can shift between forward and reverse with your left hand without even taking the hand off of the steering wheel (excellent). This makes for very efficient work when you are looking behind (backing mower in and out of tight spots).

I also am interested in buying a box blade. What size are you using? I also like your front bumper(like being able to get in closer to the truck to dump). I will have to look into that as soon as my machine arrives. How do you like the 951B mower? I am considering purchasing one. What is the height to the top of the ROPS with the R4 tires? I can't find that info. anywhere. Thanks for the advice and insight.

After purchasing my TC-30 today I went directly from the sales office to the parts dept. and ordered the sevice manual. They told me "about $80 and should arrive within the next two weeks". I told them also to get all of the filters for the TC-30(I don't know what or how many because I haven't seen a service manual yet) and I wiil buy those when I pick up the service manual.

I have seen several posts on L3130's and L3830'S but none regarding the L3430. Is there something wrong with this model? Or, is it unpopular for some reason? I tested an L3430GST(4WD), R4 tires,and LA513 loader this afternoon and found it to be an amazing machine. The price $18300. Is this a god price? I was trying to decide between a TC30 and a JD790, but now have three to choose from. I don't really need this much machine, however right now I'm going back through as many posts as I can find regarding these three tractors and will make my decision by morning. JD, NH and Kubota are all offering 0% 36 month financing (I wish only one of them was offering this then my decision would be easier). Any comments or suggestions appreciated. By the way, while at the JD dealer for yet another test of the 790 (for the third time) I also tested a 4310 HST(well sort of). My wife backed it up and started to go back forward when all of a sudden - no drive. The salesman shut off the engine and said to try it again - same thing - no drive. We left it right where it quit and got back on the 790.

I have a choice between a JD 790/70 loader/AG tires/4wd for $14,000 or a NH TC30/7308 loader/9x3 trans/4wd/R4 tires for $14,855. Are these good prices and if so, which tractor is better? Both are new and are offered with 36 month 0% financing. Tractor will be used for rotary mower work and general maintenance on 5 acres. Or, are there any suggestions for a tractor that may work better while staying under $18,000.
