Things I have learned when fixing up my new to me tractor.<br>
If you put a selector valve to add a circuit in the hydraulics, add a relief valve before the selector valve.<br>
If something happens and everything is blocked, the fluid has somewhere to go besides blowing a line or striping the gears.<br>

Milky Hydraulic or transmission oil may not always be water.<br>
After changing oil several times, had milky oil again.<br>
Not wanting to spend another $67, I drained some oil into a glass jar, put the lid on and marked the top of the oil with a sharpie.<br>
Put on shelf. Went to work the next day. After sitting for 36 hours, the oil was clear, but level had dropped almost half an inch. Had air in the oil.<br>
Turns out that the suction joint hose that showed no sign of leaking, had a pin hole on top.<br>
The pipe had a burr and sharp edge, I smoothed out.<br>
For 1 1/8 suction hose, could not find anywhere, got a foot of Fuel transfer hose from O'Reilly's.<br>

Just thinking off the top.
Check the rotation of the rotor.
You may have the wires in backwards order.
I did that once on a motorcycle.
Try running an extra ground wire from battery ground to the head and to the body of the distributor.
Check the ground on the coil. Check for the coil arcing out.
I had a coil arcing and could not see it flash when I tried it in the dark.

I am not familiar with Kubotas, so take this with a grain of salt, or bag as the case may be.
I think you are talking about a single stick two valve loader system.
If it has a rubber boot to cover the ends of the valves, pull it back.
You may have a bunch of junk making things sticky.

It also could be that the 'Tick' was the linkage coming apart, or plate where it links to the valve, broke.
I had one that broke off where the pin went through.
I just made another. A branch in the woods broke it, I did not find it until I went to lower the bucket.

If you do not find anything amiss with the linkage,

With the tractor not running bucket on the ground.
Disconnect both controls (take a picture before you do so you can see where everything goes when you put it back together)
push then pull each rod, see if it springs back to center.
Both should.

Things I would look for.
Starter, would have to pull it and take to get tested.
Auto Zone might be able to test.
Before that, I would suspect that something is dragging it down.
My first thought is that the Hydraulics have a load on them.
It could be that you got water in the Hyd oil and it has clogged up something.
That takes a lot of power to overcome, as the hydraulic pump will start pumping as soon as the engine begins turning.
Maybe also maybe the PTO is engaged, pto clutch is sticking, or the clutch is sticking, which I believe is the all the same clutch pedal.
Did anything significant happen the last time it ran?
Weird noises, shifter did something odd.
I had a MF1240 that a 'Friend' grabbed the range shifter to climb on the tractor, and stuck in 1, but it could be put in turtle, which locked up the trans.
Had to pull the shifter and move the gears to neutral to fix it and put the stick back in.
Put in neutral and see if will roll ok, then put in gear, hold clutch and see if will roll there also.

Check the main cable going to the starter, see if it is a little loose.

I cannot tell how the PTO is disengaged.
Looking at the PTO Drive parts, I think that part 15. Tube Assembly PTO Shaft is supposed to slide to the back to disengage.
I do not have this tractor, so I am not too sure of this.

I use the 510 part for my 2510. Most applies to all Long tractors, just some differences like engine cyl size and number. The Brakes should all be about the same to remove or install.<br>

Also once you get the brake bands out you may be able to find a shop that can reline them rather than replace with new pads.

U would match the shaft and mount holes up, you may be able to find a pump that has higher capacity for the same or lower price.
Also check the splines (tapered key etc.) and ask when you order, as the one you have may be from an after market mount kit.

Is the problem that the tractor will not turn over or it cranks but will not start?
I re read the thread, and am not clear on that.
If it cranks but not start, then may need to bleed the injectors. Messy but not hard. Crack the fuel lines loose at the injector slightly. Crank engine until fuel is dripping from all 3 injectors, then tighten back down. It may even start, so be careful.
If won't crank, get an automotive remote switch.
Connect first wire to the small wire (key power to run the solenoid)the other to the battery cable going to the starter.
Let us know how it goes
Make sure you are in neutral on both shift levers and don't stand in any path of the tires.
Press button, should crank over.

Yes you are right.
I deleted that post.

According to the Allstate commercial:
"Last Thanksgiving, 2 million people tried to deep fry their turkeys, 15 succeeded in setting their houses on fire,"

This would fall into that category. Hot Oil will ignite, 5 gallons would make a spectacular image.
So don't do that.

Welding can blow the generator or Alternator as well as the control box.
Yes disconnect the battery. Keep the ground clamp as close to the weld as reasonable. Don't ground at the front then weld at the back.
