Curtis, I looked into converting a generator to propane about 4 years ago. I found a company that had three different ways to convert an engine one that converted the existing carburetor and two different replacement carburetor. I will look for the literature, but you can do a web search. I also wrote the generator company and they were very helpful, so you can check with your generator vendor.

Have you made sure the caster are greased well? I have a finish mower that was skidding and greasing the caster shafts cured it.

I have a TC33D and just last weekend was tasked by my wife to remove some stumps from trees up to about 4 inches we cut this summer. She wants to clean up the area and plant nicer things than stumps and overgrowth. I have a "sub-soiler" (that is what it is called here in Georgia anyway) that I have been using to prepare garden plots. I use the subsoiler to cut the roots on both sides of the stump and continuing around the stump to get all of the roots. With the hydro stat it was pretty easy working over and around the stump. Once all the horizontal roots were cut, it was pretty easy to pull the stump and the tap root. To me, thats easier than chaining up and pulling the rear off the tractor or over loading the loader hydraulics to get them out. My two cents...

I have a 1220 with almost 2800 hours,4WD,PS,60 midmower no loader.
I had to put new injectors in it at 2700 hours, thats all thats been done to it.
It's used to cut about 2 acers of grass, and plow the drive way and other things.Never had a problem would buy another one.

When I first clicked on "Today" at the top of this page and say Bird Senter asking (I thought) whether NH vs. Kubota, I thought why is Bird Senter who has given a lot of good advice asking this question. Obviously he was answering with more good advice instead of asking the question. But I digress...
To add to his advice I would look at a lot of the pricing information before you go drive both (which you should). I recently bought a TC33D and did so because(among other things) I knew it was a good deal based on what I had read here.
Also, most people here will tell you that the tie-breaker between colors is the local dealer. I had a Kubota before the NH and like both. As a matter of fact, I started looking for Kubotas before I ended up with the NH. The Kubota parts are higher in general at the nearest dealer to me.
The other thing most people recommend is to get as much HP as you can afford. In my case I was about to settle on a TC29D and was able to get the 33D for $500 more. I thought it was worth it, but I may have been influenced by the dealer too.

I have a NH 1220 that I put new injectors in, and it had no power,one of the fuel lines was sucking in air.
You can run the tractor and losen one fuel line at a time, and see if there is a difference in the way it sounds.

I don't know about the 35 or the 40, but my TC33D has a separate lever for engaging the mid-PTO. I don't know why the 35 or 40 would be different except they are a little larger than the 33.
