I have a TC29S which has the same wire. I believe you are correct--it's power for the work light. I don't have one, but I understand the work light has its own switch much like the switch on the tractor's existing lights to turn flashers on-off. The switch on the NH work light that connects to those wires has its own on-off switch.

I've got a NH TC29 that just rounded 50 hours. I was faced with the same situation as you--no trailer and a dealer that's over an hour away. A quick read of the warranty raised no trouble flags. I spent a couple of hours this weekend on the service. Used NH parts and made sure to tuck away the receipts in case the service/parts were ever questioned. I'd imagine your 790 requires about the same service--change oil and oil filter, change hydro filter, change fuel filter, lube, etc. If you are comfortable changing oil, it isn't much of a big deal. My only problem was no bleeding the fuel system enough after I changed the fuel filter. Once the tractor died and wouldn't restart, I had to bleed again. Although I was worried at the time, I was able to get it fired up and running on my second bleed attempt.

Has anyone crossed New Holland 134 hydro fluid? I spoke with my dealer (who isn't local) and he said that he couldn't ship it--that I'd have to find it locally. He said any 'hydro fluid with weight, 20.., 40..' should work. It wasn't until I went looking yesterday that I realized I didn't have enough information. Can anyone help?

If the tractor does have a double clutch, you can successfully use it with a snowblower and not have it clogging up all the time. It does take some getting used to, however. An independent PTO is easier to use.

We're new to the tractor world but need one for: 1)field mowing (high grass and young alder trees), 2)some loading work from stacks, compost, bark, and occassionally gravel, 3)trail grooming which I'm assuming we would do with a back blade. The JD dealer has a slightly used 4400 (27hrs) with new 430 loader that we could get for $19,500 not including tax or the 790 with loader for $ 14,400 not including tax. We (wife and I) both liked the 790 but are trying to understand just how much difference the extra 3+PTO hp on the 4400 makes, both in terms of pulling the 516 rotary mower and in using the loader. Any suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated.

Recently looked at a new NH 1920 which was equipped with a Great Bend loader rather than the standard NH 7308. Salesman claimed it was a much more heavy duty loader with double the lift capacity, better hydraulics, lift etc. than the 7308. I'm not at all familiar with this unit - can anyone shed some light on whether the claims are true? Should I be paying more for it than the 7308, and if so, how much? Finally, any way to contact Great Bend? Haven't been able to find an address, phone # or web site for them.<br>Thanks.<br>
