does anyone have experiance with the difference between the teeth design on an aerway vs atlas, fuerst harrow. I would like to know witch would be the better to buy.<br>thanks,john

the 4700 is a 4600 w/ a 48 gross engine hp vs 43 for the 4600 this gives you
40 at the pto for the hydro model.

I took the time and filled out there survey, expressing my likes and dislikes w/ my jd4400 purchase, mainly the small tire size for my application (ground clearance with post hole digger). I was contacted about 60days later with an offer to upgrade for just the difference in cost to the next size up. I took them up on the offer and have been very happy.
I would and will buy green in the future because of this.

I run a small christmas tree farm. I have a John Deere 4100 tractor. I would like to build my own mechanical planter for christmas tree seedlings and transplants. Has anyone ever built one or does anyone have plans or pictures of one? Any help would be appreciated. John D.

Talked with my dealer yesterday about the scuffing on my 4300.He called John Deere and they said that the problem was with the MFWD gears.He said they were going to change gears and that would reduce front overspeed by 2 1/2 percent.He said he had not known till I call him to let him know.That seems to be a little different than what I have been reading here.

I think the point of my question on the weight on the back blade may be a little misunderstood. The point of my wanting to add weight to the back blade was to have ballast for the loader, not for additional weight to force the back blade down. Any comments?

Does anyone know of any Tractor Salvage yards? I purchased a non-running 276D with a YFL1000 loader. Some of the parts missing; insturment pannel, guages, seat, wiring & such...... I know auto/truck yards are a good source for used parts & accessories....Thanks in advance,John

HELP<br>Can anyone tell me about the 4310 Hydro with A loader. I bought a JD 4600 hydro 2 months ago. Hate to tell the JD people but I have had nothing but trouble. First, the same tire went flat 3 times with no sign of a leak. Finally they had to put a tube in it because it was probably a very slow rim leak. Then the bucket wouldn't float. Parts and labor were covered but not travel time. Three service trips, a valve replacement and $350 before it was fixed. Because they had to remove housing 3 times to fix the detent valve, the self tap screws that went into the plastic fenders cross threaded and wouldn't hold. They had to be bolted. I am really discusted. I went back and forth between these 2 tractors but went with the JD because of the poor design of the Kubota Hydro pedal. Despite what others on this board have said, I believe that the Kubota is much better made. I am seriously considering selling this tractor and getting the Kubota. The fact that the loader is more difficult to remove on the Kubota is of no consequence to me and I never break turn so That's not an issue either. <br>I had a JD 950 for ten years and never did a break turn or took off the loader. But I do need the Hydro. <br>Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.<br>Thanks,<br>John

Off the cuff, I'm going to say you got a bad batch of red diesel. The die is only there to inidicate it's tax free fuel. It should be the same fuel as the clear. We use it all the time with no problems (in vehicles too). Depending on where you live, maybe the distributor is selling some old fuel with the die, keeping the clear stuff for his higher volume. It's tough to say - I've bought a lot of bad gas before too, so who knows.

Try Carver Equipment, they advertise on this site. I priced out a machine from them and thought they were very fair, honest and knew what they were talking about. I ended up buying used, because I found a great deal. However if I bought new or they had a used machine that met my needs, I would have bought it from them.

Both Woods & Landpride make ones that attach to your draw bar and are PTO driven. I was specifically looking at larger units 7'+ or so. I would suspect they have smaller. I also think you could buy a used 3 pt mower and adapt it to your needs.

Thanks, that's goingto make it a lot easier to load up. I was really concerned that I didn't go with the HST after hearing how I was going to have to use the clutch. Basically I put it in 4wd, and rammed the bucket into the pile. It was quite jerky as you can imagine. I thought I would get better at it, but now that I know I can use the clutch, I don't have to worry about it.<br>John

Take a look at the frey blades at www.easternfarmmachinery.com they are heavy duty and you can throw a 3x8 cyl. in for angling.
